BBC: “Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is set to give midfielder Olivier Kapo a second chance to kick start his career at Wigan after he was seemingly on his way out of the club under former manager Steve Bruce.”
:o
18 September 2009 at 11:53 am #9020Why ever not?
If he’s still sh1te then kick his ass out.
18 September 2009 at 11:55 am #9021I’m all for givin King another crack as well.
You never know Bobby might just get summat…as per Kapo if he bombs again fire him off as well.

I agree with you!!!! If Kapo is even being considered it says alot about the quality of our squad. He and King have been an absolute disgrace since we signed them and would never wear the shirt again if it were up to me.
18 September 2009 at 1:44 pm #9030Admittedly he was pish poor last season, but on paper, he’s a bloody good player!
I don’t think it reflects badly on our other midfielders, because, be honest, if it was announced pre-season that Martinez had signed a French international who’d played for Juventus, Monaco and Auxerre, we’d all be saying what a great coup it was.
Perhaps it was Bruce and Bruce’s style of play that didn’t suit him. Perhaps that’s why he wanted to leave. Who knows? We’ve got him until at least January, so he might as well be given a chance.
18 September 2009 at 2:14 pm #9033We might get a decent 3 months out of him.
I hope Kapos form last season was because he didn’t fit in well with SB style. I suspect there is a good player in there somewhere.
Either road he has made it clear in the past he doesn’t want to be here, so I think the best we can realistically hope for is he tries like billyo and gets some other team interested in him come January.
Whatever happens, when he is wearing the shirt on the pitch, he needs our support.

He wasn’t alone there was he?
A bit of a contradiction of terms there Yick, (Steve Bruce and style in the same sentence.)18 September 2009 at 4:19 pm #9047Personally, I don’t think we need him.
So Roberto is thinking of changing a winning team, is he? That never makes sense to me. I’d only ever make changes if you’ve got beat or played absolutely abysmal. Who’s he going to drop? Diame? No. He was M.O.M. last week. Thomas? He was solid too. Koumas? He played alright, as did N’Zogbia.
No starting place for Kapo, for me. Unless there’s an injury or summat.
And I’d actually rather us be including Watson, who’s gone to QPR, in things, rather than Kapo. Watson may come into things next season, with the ‘home-grown’ ruling. So I’d be thinking of gradually bedding him in, this season.
I get the feeling that Kapo thinks he is bigger than this club. I don’t know, I might be wrong.
18 September 2009 at 4:33 pm #9050He can play a striker role and lord knows we’re short in that position. Bob has done well rejuvenating Koumas – why not Krapo?
18 September 2009 at 5:11 pm #9051Kapo no doubt has talent but from the start last season he didn’t look like he wanted to be here and said as much. But I think he could be a good asset. For me he could play a role just behind rodallega or on the left. He adds abit of height aswell and if we ever need to go direct he could be a good weapon.

Who needs Ronaldo when weve got Kapo.

19 September 2009 at 2:48 pm #9129Completely agree yickers…. He needs the support if he’s on the pitch and wearing our colours as does everyone else… No point in shouting abuse, it isn’t gunna make him better is it.
Also i agree with Tini a little bit even though he looks like the crazy frog -
