Has moved into coaching
Former Spurs and Wigan man Chimbonda takes player-coach role in England’s 11th tier
13 September 2018 at 5:56 pm #171730Fairplay on him.really good player for us in his short time.hope he does well.
13 September 2018 at 6:17 pm #171731He was a proper Judas. Handing in a transfer request still in his kit. Kermit shithouse.
13 September 2018 at 6:22 pm #171732A lot more worse things have happened at sea.ie.a good player for us end of the day.
13 September 2018 at 11:05 pm #171736A lot more worse things have happened at sea.ie.a good player for us end of the day.He was blue no doubt he even got a place in the French squad after his performances for us. Mr Whelan even improved his contract mid season. Remember the very late winner he got against Fulham?. Everything was pointing to him being a Latics great and the find of the season. Then he totally dis respected the club and Mr Whelan who took a chance on him when nobody knew who he was. His behaviour to get his Spurs move was disgraceful. Typical French arrogance.

14 September 2018 at 12:45 am #171741Badly advised by his agent as many others have been in the pastC,Mon egg lad you can blame an agent so much but it was Chimbonda,s decision alone to request a transfer immediately after a game and before he had took his kit off.
14 September 2018 at 12:49 am #171742He at least owed his teammates who had helped him become a player in demand enough respect to go about it in a proper manner.
14 September 2018 at 12:58 am #171743Oh yeah I agree that what he did was wrong but so was what Max Power did for example.
14 September 2018 at 2:15 am #171744As much as his timing was poor, at least he had the balls to submit a transfer request and forego a “loyalty payoff”.
Compare that with the exodus in 2013 and 2015 of players – none of whom submitted a transfer request so they could get their payoffs.
14 September 2018 at 2:29 am #171745It definitely left a bad taste they way he left but that aside he remains one of the most exciting wing backs we’ve had at Wigan imo.
14 September 2018 at 2:58 am #171748He was a good player, but he was never in the same class as Mario Melciott.

Other players have acted far worse in attempts to get moves away and don’t get an ounce of the stick Chimbonda still gets.
Yes it was awful timing on his part but that was it. Poor timing & to be honest it sounds pathetic when I’ve heard people say they wouldn’t have minded if he’d handed it in later that day or the day after. Getting their knickers in a twist for the sake of a few hours
14 September 2018 at 5:00 am #171750‘Gone into coaching’? Driving them?

McCulloch engineered his move to Rangers – but they are the club he supported from being a child, and where his family were. And if you listen to McCulloch’s account of it, he was promised the move by Whelan when he first learnt of the interest, but Whelan then performed a U-turn and blocked it.
Chimbonda on the other hand had been plucked from obscurity, and asked to move purely for the money.
