Coyle its not good enough
mclean wish hed got sent off earlier. Should have seen red for that useless free kick
mcmanaman something not right
Powells never a striker
gonez a performance that gets him the boo boys
rogne gone downhillOnly barnett and macurthur showed any fight
Pathetic. Never looked like scoring
19 October 2013 at 6:21 pm #122439watson gomez and mcarthur shoul not be on the field together, our midfield was too slow distributing the ball to our wingers.
19 October 2013 at 6:37 pm #122441Stuff the sending off cos it will paper over a crap performance. Not 1 effort on target up to the 2 forwards coming on so Coyle must take responsibility .His insistence in play ing Powell as a lone striker is inexplicable when Holt and Fortune sit feeling their nuts on the bench.we looked afar more potent unit when he changed it but by then 60 mins had been wasted.I personally have no great interest in our euro campaign ,this league is what counts to me and so far we have looked mid table at best. Our home form has been ok apart from repeatedly falling behind but away we are woeful.Yes I know we have had injuries to Holt and Fortune but having only 2 forwards and 20 midfielders and defenders is a poor structure.
19 October 2013 at 6:41 pm #122442Well to be fair we hit the bar twice and Fortune had a really good chance the keeper saved.
I believe we have a good squad and some really good players.
Unfortunately we seem to have got a Manager who doesn’t seem to have a clue how to play them and choose the right formation.
We only really looked like scoring once we had a “proper” striker on the pitch.
Why play Powell up on his own? Anyone can see he isn’t suited to playing that lone striker role.
Why keep playing a right footer at left back? Give Espinoza a go or Jan Beau. They may not be full backs but they are left footed.I really feel for Roger as he just isn’t getting a chance.
Today was the game we needed to win not Thursday. No point resting players – rest em on Thursday!!
Onwards and upwards !!!!
Probably not !! :(
19 October 2013 at 6:55 pm #122443Couldn’t agree more……..coyle can’t pick the right squad!! (& he’s had enough time now!) Being in Europe is a great achievement and we’re holding our own….but let’s at least try to bring some class into our league games. What does he say at half time? Think we’ve got to get more physical to beat these teams…….half of blackpool’s team were just yard dogs…..but they got the win! We didn’t seem to have commitment today…..think they get frustrated with one (non-striker) upfront……give Powell a chance in his proper position along with roger……….can someone in the know please tell us WHY he isn’t getting a kick of the ball?
19 October 2013 at 9:28 pm #122446Why no Roger, cause we have an idiot in charge that’s why!, but we`ve got him so lets plod on. I`d sooner us do well in Europe at the moment (which we won`t see happen again), and hang on in there in the league, then this squad he’s suppose to be gelling together can push up the league and hopefully get a play off spot and another Wembley trip, and as we know anything can happen in a one off game at Wembley!, We can`t be this bad for much longer. :woohoo:
19 October 2013 at 9:43 pm #122447I wish Martinez was still here.

I really believe this too, but to be quite honest with Coyle’s crap choices of who plays and where they play, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Scott Carson being given a go at being the lone striker before too long…
19 October 2013 at 11:00 pm #122450A few inchorent points inno particular order:
Watson. I can’t ever slate the guy after he won us the fa cup ……but every forward move was slowed down by him today, same comment applies to Gomez.
We play Powell up front on his own. Fair enough if the 2 lads on the bench aren’t fit enough yet but ffs you full kit w@nker don’t bring him off when you bring the other 2 on. I was as pissed off as he looked when this happened.
The best I have seen us play this season was against forest with jean and roger giving us defensive an attacking impetus. What’s happened? Instead we have the slowest midfield in the northern hemisphere. We also have nobody who can take a free kick .
We also IMO have the best squad in the division and we should get it right.19 October 2013 at 11:15 pm #122451Just after calming down I’ve listened to Coyles evaluation of the game. Reckons it wasn’t a pen, ranting about the sending off and stating we did enough to win the game.
Eff off you tosspot take your blinkers off. It was a nailed on pen, lucky not to lose Carson, the red card for McLean was bollocks but in the 94th min irrelevant, and as for doing enough to win……..
I’m fuming again
20 October 2013 at 1:31 am #122453It was a thoroughly depressing performance. But it’s even more depressing that Coyle won’t admit it.
Coyle started with honest post-match interviews – I think we’ve sent the last of those.
20 October 2013 at 2:31 am #122455Owen Coyle: “The overriding feeling is one of frustration, because we should be leaving here with points rather than empty handed and I’ve told that to the players.”
Well thank you Captain Obvious.
He really is one of those managers when his team loses he throws tired old cliches out there like we didn’t battle hard enough.
Tactically inept. We are playing a 4-4-2 system with the exception we play one up front for the extra man in midfield yet constantly losing that midfield battle!
We used to close people down in every area of the pitch to make it hard for much better opposition than we are playing this season yet now we seem to give the opposition the freedom to impose them selves on the game.
20 October 2013 at 4:10 am #122458Surprised nobodys mentioned this season that Macmanamans been bloody awful. Cant beat a man, cant get a cross in. Looks like hes lost pace too.
20 October 2013 at 12:02 pm #122460Surprised nobodys mentioned this season that Macmanamans been bloody awful. Cant beat a man, cant get a cross in. Looks like hes lost pace too.Teams have worked him out Roy and double up on him as soon as he gets the ball. That happened every time yesterday. He has to work doubly hard to get a cross in.
I still have more confidence in him than McLean though to beat an isolated fullback.
That was another piece of tactical genius yesterday from Coyle. Bringing on Jean Beau and sticking McLean on the wrong wing on his wrong foot. You just knew we wouldn’t get another cross in from either wing then.

really?
Did you actually watch the game?isotope
