I was listening to 6-0-6 last night and an Ipswich fan was on. He implied that the one signing that Ipswich really needed to make was Liam Richardson, who is proving that Cook is a bang-average manager without him. Sunderland suffered in the same way when appointing Martin O’Neill without John Robertson accompanying him for the first time in O’Neill’s managerial career.

Sometimes managers/head coaches are not as good as we fans are led to believe when the reason for their success doesnt accompany them. Clearly Ipswich’s loss is Wigan’s gain, but is Cook a bad manger without Richardson, or is it just a case of wrong club, wrong time?

I said when Cook got the Ipswich job that the club nor the fans will be as lenient as Wigan Athletic was with him, he got away with quite a lot at Latics, banning the press from asking him awkward questions, touchline arguments and swearing at the fans, making ridiculous and needless substitutions sometimes causing us to drop points etc etc.

I met Cook at Doncaster a few years ago (The day we won the league) the guy is really down to earth a really top bloke and i hope he does well, but not at our expense.

It does look as though LR was the brains behind the Cook/Richardson partnership.

      Fuck the EFL

Paul Cook reminds me of a boxer when he does all his best work at the end of a round.
I remember the amazing run in that nearly kept us up but I also remember just as well all those games he threw away, poor subs, poor tactics.

I never rated him and I’m not shocked to see Ipswich are too big of a club for him. You don’t bring in 19 players then say it will take time.
I’m sorry but that’s bollux, you bring in players to suit your system. Their footballers, should they need 12 months to “slot in” absolute rubbish. If your good enough you’ll adapt in a couple of weeks.

If things don’t improve Cook won’t see October out

Ipswich have had too many managers and are struggling for that reason in my view. Cook is a slow burn manager and will need time to impose his will however a 2-5 home defeat against our ‘obsessed with hating us ‘ pals from Blackrod will most certainly not have helped matters.
sort of result you wonder if he has issues in the dressing room, real problems if he has.
He does though has a few promotions on his CV from the bottom two divisions so they would be a fool to pull the plug on him , he will need a season at least.
