No disrespect to Paul, but is this a reflection how far Liverpool sunk over recent years !
10 July 2010 at 5:17 pm #39663He will be a replacement for Lucus as the ‘boo boy’
10 July 2010 at 7:50 pm #39670I will be very surprised if there is any truth in this.
10 July 2010 at 11:57 pm #39688Dont think Roy Hodgson would of had him at Fulham never mind Liverpool. No chance this will come off and if it does Ill be shocked!
This is Scharner and his agent stiring things up again.11 July 2010 at 2:40 pm #39713Dont think Roy Hodgson would of had him at Fulham never mind Liverpool. No chance this will come off and if it does Ill be shocked!
This is Scharner and his agent stiring things up again.Everton were favourites to get him around early 2010, Moyes must have saw the light.

11 July 2010 at 9:49 pm #39760Sorry, it’s just my instinctive response to boring and predictive posts that have little originality and everyone knows already.
11 July 2010 at 9:56 pm #39761Can’t remember where i read it, but i read that he was signing for Championship new boys Leeds United.
12 July 2010 at 4:31 pm #39805Former Wigan Athletic player Paul Scharner is being linked with a move to Premier League new boys Newcastle United who were promoted from the Championship last season.
Scharner officially left the Latics on June 30th when his contract at the DW Stadium expired and he has been linked with moves to Fulham, Aston Villa and more recently Liverpool, but reports from the North East are now saying that the Austria international captain is likely to end up at St. James` Park.
Love him or loathe him the madcap Austrian is a real character and he brought some colour to the Latics dressing room, especially with his hair designs; Scharner has also made the most Premier League appearances for the Latics with 145 to his name spread over the five seasons he spent with the club joining mid-way through the 2005/06 season and who could forget the fact that he made a goal scoring debut in the semi-final of the Carling Cup against Arsenal with the game`s only goal.
Good luck to him whereever he ends up, he sure left some memories behind in Wigan
12 July 2010 at 4:33 pm #39807Former Wigan Athletic defender Paul Scharner appears to have a choice of clubs since his departure from the Latics but he would love the chance to try his luck at Liverpool and join new boss Roy Hodgson at Anfield
Scharner`s agent Valentin Hobel has been speaking to Sky Sports and confirmed that the Austria international is in talks with a few clubs thought to be Fulham, Everton, Newcastle and Aston Villa but it appears that the likeable 30 year old is waiting for a chance to team up with Hodgson and he is biding his time.
Hodgson is thought to be a big fan of Scharner the midfield player and this would be music to the ears of Herr Scharns as we all know thats where he feels he is best suited.
Speaking to Sky Sports Hobel said: ‘Roy Hodgson and Paul Scharner – this is a special relationship’
‘Hodgson thinks that Paul’s strengths in midfield are better than his attributes in central defence.
‘Liverpool would be a dream, of course, but we are in contact with several clubs. Because he is a free transfer, he can choose.’
Love when players say its always been a dream of mine to play for this certain club..Doe’s my head right in
