Did anybody else see he had ‘Thanks’, written in blue dye on the back of his head?

We noticed it at half time when he was out on the pitch. Ok, we know he is going, and that he has never been too shy to mouth off his chances of going here or there………….

But frankly, I was DISGUSTED that some people decided to boo him, when he came on as a sub. Do some people have short memories? I’m thinking, that goal at Sheffield Utd, the day we stayed up…..I’m thinking that goal in the League Cup semi-final first leg, V Arsenal, which was also his debut.

Like I say, short memories, some folk…….. :(

I like him, I just wish he wanted to stay and play in defence.

He was one of our best players last season but as a midfielder this season he’s been mediocre.

It’s been a rubbish season for many of our players, but I get the feeling Scharner has been made a bit of a scapegoat. It’s a shame.

I genuinely wish him all the best, wherever he goes. We’ve had our moneys worth out of him, definitely. 4 and half seasons. In fact, apart from Pollitt, he’s the last member of our team from that first season to be at the club.

(Incidentally, does anybody else find it hard to ‘bond’ with our current crop of players? When they were walking around the pitch today, I said to people who sit near me, “I find it hard to feel close to this side, compared to previous teams”. Does anybody else? Why do you think this is?)

i can see the answer to this question will go both ways to the light and the darkside. But in my opinion if we keep the majority of the players and get rid of the dead wood and also get someone in who can organise the defence then we will be fine imo .

That will be when we feel close too our side we have a virtual backbone but the head is missing so to speak all in all work in process me thinks

My Daughter got Scharner’s autograph on one of his postcards, it just says “thanks 4 all !” I think that’s goodbye, he’s done well but it probably is time to part company, disgrace those booing him when he came on yesterday.

Paul Scharner has had an “I am bigger than the club” attitude for quite some time now
He publicly told Hutchings to “F**k off” whilst still on the pitch & whilst receiving an instruction from him, he moaned that Steve Bruce “resented” him, we had to listen every summer whilst he told us what big clubs he was going to sign for & this season he has publicly slated the rest of the team on a couple of occasions & told the manager (via the press) where he needed to play him or else he’d be off.
Not to forget a mere couple of weeks ago he (allegedly) scraps with another player in the tunnel at half-time who refused to accept Scharner blaming him for somet & then stomps off in a huff when substituted & leaves the stadium before the end of the game. And not so much as a word of apology from him to the fans or publicly to the manager & the team.
That last one to me is unforgivable & kind of sullies the good work he has done as a centre half & getting a couple of vital goals.
That’s not to say I’d boo him, but his behaqviour a couple of weeks ago could well have been the straw that broke the camels back for alot of people & I won’t have a go at em for giving him stick these last few weeks – Scharner especially hasn’t been shy in coming forward to criticise people in the past so maybe he deserves a dose of his own medicine

Perhaps its down to the size of his yed.
When Bruce left I believe he had “Thanksverymuchforbeingsuchgreatandloyalsupporters” painted on the back of his head.

He switches off in defence but when he’s just behind the attacking 4 (Hugo,Charlie,McCarthy,Scotland) he’s a very good player alongside Diame.
