I didnt see this today but apart from the groundstaff replacing divots a whole bunch of organic fertiliser was dumped on the pitch at half time. I trust true loyal Latics fans turned their back on this insult to us all. Please no more shoite on the pitch at half time.

It seems that the proper fans of WAFC didn’t share your view, the warriors team got a standing ovation from all three sides of the ground.

LMB I agree I ain’t a lover of the Rugby , (for historical reasons), Although in the 1950’s I was a supporter and traveled home and away (That was when it was PROPER rugby)But I, along with the majortiy of fans, applauded the team for what they have achieved and put ‘Little Wigan’ in the media spotlight again ;) There was one guy, sat behind me, shouting obscenities during the parade of the cups, but that was the only negative comments I heard.

I hear there is a great darts team in Wigan. Please can we see their trophies on Saturday.

You really don’t realise how stupid you look posting this, do you?

Judging by the reaction of the crowd on Sunday it is an ever decreasing minority that continues its petty feud or whatever it is with Warriors. I must admit I nearly fell asleep watching their game on Saturday but it was worth forsaking Soccer Saturday for once to see a tiny bit of sporting history being made. Nice touch on Sunday, even the Boro fans were applauding.

Glad they got a good reaction. Hopefully the same will happen on Friday night if they choose to do the same. Everyone from Wigan should be proud of what has been achieved this year regardless of their side of the fence.

Thought the Warriors got an excellent standing ovation on Saturday and it was nice to see their players respond to it by returning the applause however I was disappointed by the W.E.P’s lack of coverage, the only mention I saw was by Paul Kendrick in the match write-up. Surprised (not).

Most fans would be in the concourse at half time. Thugby Post woyld have printed something if it was met with a boo rather than a polite abstain to the concourse. Latics fans are such a polite lot.

Everybody knows my views on the klumps so I have no need to vent my spleen further other than to say I turned my back on the pitch when they came out, I didn’t applaud, and only turned back to face the pitch when I was informed they had left the pitch.

I am not arsed whether people think it was petty as I don’t care a shoite about WRL or their fans or indeed our own fans who like or watch them as well.
It was just my way of showing my views without making an arse of my self. It wasn’t high profile granted and perhaps no-one else noticed, but I did it and I personally made my point quietly.

Their all conquering achievements over the years are commendable and fair play to them but this cannot be compared to Latics achievements in the FA Cup.
The stature of the FA Cup is somewhat greater than the RL Challenge Cup, and winning the RL Cup is a kin to Man Utd winning the FA Challenge Trophy.

One last thing, and this is not having a go at anyone as I generally don’t know, but did the Latics parade the FA Cup around the DW Stadium at half time at their game after our FA Cup victory.
If so was the reception as good for the Latics as it was for them?

The first home rugby fixture after the FA Cup final was 28 June, so no they didnt. The manager had quit by then and those players that hadnt followed him out of the door would have been on holiday.

Even if they did, it wouldnt be the same having Owen Coyle and all the new signings parading a trophy that some other bunch of players won.

That said, I think it would be a great idea to have both trophies on display as the teams come out on Friday.

I applaude you Horc. Such good manners and not disapearing into the concourse at half time to avoid the farce.
