A few topics on here since yesterdays match about all the foreigners at Anfield yesterday.
The number of foreigners in the away end seems to be getting more and more everytime i go. More at the games which cost the most money looks like the real fans will only go to the cheaper grounds and i dont blame them. The atmosphere was crap yesterday not only from the Liverpool fans but also from in our end. Now my lad as ticked Anfield of his list i wont be going back. :(
Jesus wept, people moan when no one goes and people moan when people do go. Should new fans just stay at home or do they need an attendance application form or something. Your lad has now ticked off Anfield, So that was his first time there also……IMPOSTER
I had three Irish lads in front of me and they were well behind Latics. I asked why Wigan and they said “I know, we must be the only Wigan fans in ireland….” I asked if they had met Donnelly,,,,, they hadn’t

I know a few of those plastic Wiganers pretty well who happen to play for the club in the Reserves, and they and their families get really into supporting the club now. Some are even from Spain (eg. Abian Serrano)
Is this not spreading the word of Wigan Athletic, making our club a team to support for people from all over the world?
Donnolly is a great example, and your saying you don’t think he should support the club as a plastic Wiganer / foreigner?
Oh and Jayt …. Donnolly was on Row 9 Seat 26 if i’m not mistaken. :shifty:
There’s only ever one Donnelly on here and he’s a legioned, one of the original to post on here from the beginning when you could have the crack.
Now sunning himself up in Oz.
I’ve seen quite a few foreigners at our home games. We had 3 seats next to us, in a predominantly season ticket area (east stand central) that I discovered were sold by one of these online ticketing companies. It became obvious, when we had Asians, Chinese/Korean/Japs, at games such as United and Arsenal, yet the seats would be empty against the likes of Fulham and Bolton. It’s changed now though. That said, a few season ticket holders have disappeared and we’ve had total strangers in quite a lot. 3 blokes came in at the City game, foreigners, and were openly supporting City.
I’ve seen Poles (might live in Wigan, anyway! ) and I remember Austrians in Frankie and Benny’s. (To see Scharner?)
I’ve no problem with how things are, but I’d hate us to get like Liverpool. I know a few people who watched them for years, and now struggle for tickets, relying on ballots and such like, and then you get coachloads of Norwegians or whatever going to games.
I was over in Prague in 2001, and I met a load of Swedes and Danes. Football mad, they were. They knew everything about Latics, through the internet, and Championship manager!
I believe Donnelly is an alright lad, who genuinely likes Latics. Gone a bit quiet lately, though, eh?

He flew in to Wigan last Monday if my sources are correct.
Gotta give him credit for spending all this time, effort and money on Wigan Athletic.
Gotta give him credit for finding an airport in Wigan. That’s a good effort in itself
He could have flown into wigan using a helicopter……..
