A police officer friend of mine attended a house break in of no other than Charles NZogbia ! Being a big latics fan he couldn’t resist asking him the $10 million question ! NZogbia promptly informed him that Whelan wants him to go in January ! My mate then asked..Liverpool ? NZogbia smiled and said nothing !!! What concerns me is the fact that Whelan is pushing for the move ! We all knew he would go but I for one didnt think that Whelan would be pushing for it so much !!

Or Dave.
18 December 2010 at 8:44 pm #53548Fair point.
But a player who has already publicly asked for a transfer clearly doesn’t have much of a leg to stand on if he’s claiming that the ONLY reason he’s going is because the chairman wants to sell him.

Griff in all fairness I never said anything about him claiming it was the ONLY reason for leaving ! ;)
18 December 2010 at 9:38 pm #53551I know you didn’t, but you didn’t list any others either, did you ;)

18 December 2010 at 10:33 pm #53556david whelan has always been and always will be a ‘retailer’, and irrespective of source it gives this story credance- whelan knows that it will be better to sell in january when there are customers about ‘purchasing’ for consolidating,or that extra push up the league even to avoid relegation- he will get more for him than in the summer fire sale after our relegation.
this will be further proof of how whelan has been preparing for his ultimate exit over the last 18 months – getting rid of any player not on minimum wage – bringing in second rate players and continuing to employ an imbecile as manager because hes the peoples champion.18 December 2010 at 10:43 pm #53558Anonymous

N’Zogbia is undoubtedly our biggest talent and one of the big assets we have in the fight against relegation. He is also a spoilt brat, has publicly declared his desire to leave and is probably – though I don’t know for a fact – a bad influence in the dressing room.
For all those reasons, and some you state (ie, being worth more now rather than in a fire sale) I hope Whelan does sell him to the highest bidder as early in January as possible.
Oh, and a good gratuitous shoe-horning in of the manager insult there – well done
18 December 2010 at 11:07 pm #53562Oh, and a good gratuitous shoe-horning in of the manager insult there – well donei learned that from you – the master -but whereas i used it on the manager you tend to use it on everyone who doesnt share your ‘world according to griff view’
19 December 2010 at 12:22 am #53564Not true at all mate. Very few gratuitous insults from me. Plenty of sarcasm though, whether people agree with me or not.
See you’re not arguing with the N’Zogbia comments, though?
