after yesterdays attendance who can blame players for wanting away or chairman for selling them? And dont give me if he didnt sell players we would get more on cause thats rubbish and you know it. All you supposed supporters that stayed home yesterday how are we meant to attract players with crowds like this? Disgracful

you r just like all the the pundits, newspapers very lazy take a good look at the other crowds at the other grounds with a bigger fan base, bolton 11,000 boro12,000against city, stoke 15,000 5,000 from york, do you really think we was going to get any more on, with the results that we have had in the prem, i dont think so, as i have said b4 the papers pundits love to jump on our crowds because they dont think we should be in the prem as do some of our fans, (punching above our weight etc) but i dont hear many saying how bad the crowd was at boro, 3,000 from city so that would be9,000 from boro not very good really is it, and do you really think they are arsed about crowds give them the money and they will come,

I wish people would be realistc, our prem home crowds not away prob 14,000, 500 from hull turned up yest, so that means a drop of 9,ooo home fans, aston villa v blackburn prob 1,000 from blackburn thats 24,000 home fans for the cup, so thats a drop of 15,ooo home fans, both these clubs have a bigger home fan base, so if you look at the bigger picture our drop in home fans in the cup is about the same or better, i could go on but im a lazy git, :o

For an all premiership cup tie it was a disgraceful attendance, the second worst of the round just in front of Torquay.

          Even Scunthorpe did better.

          gone fishing ?

Well, i’m normally in executive seats & the FA took most executive seats off Wigan so around 200 – 300 people were turned away. Four of us just snuck in with a lounge pass.

Wigan will get slight improvements on attendances every season now & if Bolton get relegated, thats about 100 more lads going watching Wigan. The others hate Wigan – like we hate them.

In my opinion i thought the admission price was too high for a competion that is essentially treated as reserve fixtures by the PL clubs these days.
A more reasonable £10 for adults and a £2 for kids may have bumped up the attendance to 9 or 10,000 as it was the price worked out dearer than my east stand PREM season ticket (£13per match).
I wasnt surprised at the gate.

These days kids are scared 2 support Wigan but once 1 kid supports Wigan it’s like a cold, it spreads.

                    FA minimum = £15.

Para 20(a) also deals with the “why didn’t Whelan give season ticket holders free admission…”

Whilst the minimum price for adults is set at £15, there is no minimum for OAPs & kids – the ruling merely states that both clubs have to agree on it.

So, why charge them £5. If they had been £1, or even free, then the attendance may well have been slightly higher.

                      Notts County v Forest Green:

                      Adults £15, Conc £10, U16 £3.

I think you are both reading that rule incorrectly! What it actually says is that unless both teams mutually agree, therefore its saying if we had gone to Hull and said £5 adults £1 kids as we supposdly did and hull agreed then we could of charged that. However if they didnt agree then we have to charge £15 for adults!

I went but don’t blame anybody at all who didn’t go.
In media interviews during the week both managers admitted that they would be putting out much changed line ups. Now Latics line up wasn’t as changed round as many expected but if you have managers of both sides admitting that the competition is not their priority why on earth should the fans be expected to treat it as much a priority as a league game & part with their hard earned cash for the privilege of watching 2 reserve sides regardless of whether it was “reduced” to £15??
