Seeing as beforehand I had the game marked down as no points for us, I will accept the point we gained.

But we could, and should, have had all three points. Two calamity goals, again. That said, earlier on in the season, we wouldn’t have come back and gon 2-1 up.

Very disappointed, but then again we were playing against 4th in the league, and to be honest, we were the better team over the course of the afternoon. We have to look at it like this and use it as a positive.

We move on to WBA next. They’ve won 3-0 at Southampton today, so no mean feat.

I think we are going to need 4 points from West Brom/Swansea.

And Villa to lose on Monday.

We need a big following next Saturday to get behind the boys. Huge huge game.

I think 38 points will be enough, in all honesty.

If we could beat WBA and then beat Swansea, I think we’d be safe. Especially if Sunderland beat Villa on Monday.

tottenham had enough clear cut chances this afternoon to have beaten us easily especially in the first half.
A point gained and it’s certainly not doom and gloom yet.
            massive two games coming up.

Sunderland NOT losing to villa monday is a MUST as far as i’m concerned.

Villa WIN and they’re as good as safe (point(s) against canaries

all other strugglers will surely pick up min. 1 win to guarantee survival

As Di Canio says, (for us) Villa / Sunderland now the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

One point out the last 3 games (city, whu, spurs) whichever way you look at it, is not good enough (cf. prior year run-in). reliant now on others ….

gutted to concede last minute equaliser today – as martinez says, not even a free-kick.

I thought it was a very open, attack minded game of football, actually.

Definitely an entertaining game, but poor Joel will be on ‘Own Goals And Gaffes’ DVD’s for years with that first goal, even though it was Figueroa’s fault with the back pass.

Incidentally, I hope Maynor isn’t badly injured. If one player deserves a run out at Wembley in the Cup Final, it’s him. Not had much luck with defenders this season, have we?

Figs out for the season according to RM post match. Groin injury 5-6 weeker.

Agreed gutted to concede the late goal…

BUT…deffo a good point would have taken a draw at the start.

Cant fault the effort today, the lads really got stuck in.

BUT…sadly it is so obvious why we are in this mess. Dreadful defending and not taking our chances….

We simply MUST get at least 3 points from the next 2 games…more if Villa win on Mon night. That said, it still leaves Sunderland and Newcastle in trouble…Newc are now 0-4 as I write this…they have Spam away, QPR away (‘Arry wont go down without a fight) and Arsenal home last day.

A lifelong Villa mate of mine had a crafty £5 after last weekend at 25/1 us and Villa both to stay up…

This is not over by a long way…KEEP THE FAITH :cheer:

Must be Callum Mcmanaman’s fault that Newcastle are so poor. This could go down to goal difference with them back in it too. Poor Pardew.

Oops it’s 6-0 now with 8 min to go

Their GD is now -23 same as us.

Time to get worried Pardew

A great performance marred by the 2 crap goals we gave away.

The most enjoyable part though was my mate, a Geordie season ticket holder, down for tonites MTWA gig at The Kaff jumping up in celebration of a CALLUM McMANAMAN goal !!!!! B)

How soon they forget !!! ;)

Mind you he’s in a deep depression at the moment !! :cheer:

That wasn’t booing I heard at the end was it? Surely not Newcastle fans with all their knowledge, passion and fat blokes in replica shirts.

One of those games where you would have been happy with a point beforehand, but it was definitely 2 points dropped IMO. The under 8’s team i coach could have defended that first goal better.

                      Are Newcastle catchable?

It’s definitely possible than from West Ham (a) QPR (a) and Arsenal (h) they could pick up just 3 or 4 points. Plus their current 5 point lead, wins against West Brom (a), Swansea (h) and Villa (h) could see us beat them by a point or on GD.

Unlikely scenario, but it’s good to know that it’s not necessarily all about Villa.
