To be blunt I think Newcastle will get a point a QPR and that’s it.
To be hammered like that at home must have really knocked the stuffing out of them.
If Villa win against Sunderland it leaves Sunderland still in it as well.
This is going down to the wire….
27 April 2013 at 11:51 pm #111133Yes the horse punchers are catchable, said the other day I only think they’ll pick up a draw and defeats from their last 3. Therefore we need 39, the same number I also think villa will reach. Maybe 38 will do it on goal difference now they got hammered.
After today should feel gutted we didn’t see it out, though strangely don’t feel too despondent. I thought we’d lose today, was confident we’d see it out but as half went on I thought we would. To lose a late goal is a sickener but then again we could easily have lost it at the death, so all in all probably a point gained, the value of which we’ll know in a few weeks.

28 April 2013 at 12:07 am #111135Like ABL, I was expecting zip, so I guess it’s a point gained, but am on the floor after what could have so nearly been a massive 3 points and the loss of yet another defender. Don’t think I’ve ever known us have such 5hit luck.
I also think we’ll be 5 points shy by 10pm Monday – can’t see Sunderland pick up a 3rd win on the trot away from home against a Villa side buoyed by today’s draw.
On the plus side, it sounded like we has a 3rd great performance on the trot, but this time managed to find the net and bag a result.
28 April 2013 at 12:48 am #111139definitely two points dropped for me. That first goal was laughable and we should have been two up and coasting.
Arouna Kone had two gilt edge chances today and fluffed them both, straight at the keeper.
That said, great game, very entertaining with some good footy played by both sides.

I think 38 points will be enough, in all honesty.
If we could beat WBA and then beat Swansea, I think we’d be safe. Especially if Sunderland beat Villa on Monday.
Sunderland NOT losing to villa monday is a MUST as far as i’m concerned.
Villa WIN and they’re as good as safe (point(s) against canaries
all other strugglers will surely pick up min. 1 win to guarantee survival
As Di Canio says, (for us) Villa / Sunderland now the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
One point out the last 3 games (city, whu, spurs) whichever way you look at it, is not good enough (cf. prior year run-in). reliant now on others ….
gutted to concede last minute equaliser today – as martinez says, not even a free-kick.[/quote]
reliant on others?
beat wba
beat swans
draw @ arsenal
beat villa
how is it we are reliant on others?
it’s in our hands,think positve28 April 2013 at 1:53 pm #111168Anonymous
You’ll know on Monday night whether it’s a point gained or lost.
Villa are the benchmark.
You certainly deserved 3 points as the goals you conceded were very unfortunate.
