Having studied the games that we have left, and they are quickly running out, I honestly think that we will end up with either a minimum of EIGHT points, or a maximum of TEN POINTS.
MAXIMUM, I’m saying:
TOTTENHAM H DRAW
BIRMINGHAM A LOSE
LIVERPOOL H LOSE
BOLTON A DRAW
ASTON VILLA H DRAW
BURNLEY H DRAW
MAN CITY A LOSE
FULHAM A LOSE
PORTSMOUTH H WIN
ARSENAL H DRAW
WEST HAM A LOSE
HULL H WIN
CHELSEA A LOSEAll games are crucial, but especially the Bolton, Burnley, Portsmouth, and Hull games. Any losses in them and it’s critical, I think.
18 February 2010 at 4:07 pm #23036Here is the maximum i think we can achieve.
TOTTENHAM H Draw
BIRMINGHAM A Draw
LIVERPOOL H Draw
BOLTON A DRAW
ASTON VILLA H DRAW
BURNLEY H Win
MAN CITY A Draw
FULHAM A LOSE
PORTSMOUTH H WIN
ARSENAL H Lose
WEST HAM A Draw
HULL H Win
CHELSEA A Lose18 February 2010 at 4:09 pm #23037I think that’s rather a pessimistic view, to be honest.
There are points to be gained in there – obviously we won’t get all of them but I think wins against Bolton and Burnley are quite possible, and draws with Brum, City, Fulham and West Ham are well possible if we play as we should be able to to, compared to how we HAVE been playing.

GL, I’m just going off how we have been all season, how we look at the moment, the fact that we don’t score that many, are prone to giving daft goals away, and have a god-awful pitch. I also think that in some games we well possibly score first, say, Fulham away. Someone like Scharner will nick one. But then 5 minutes later, we’ll concede a poor goal.
It was an honest appraisal of how I think it will pan out, not how I WANT it to pan out. How poignant would it be if it came down to the last couple of games…….and a certain Amr Zaki scored the goal that sends us down? Can see it now.
18 February 2010 at 4:26 pm #23043Anybody have a link to that predictor thing that everyone was doin the other week? Was it on the BBC website?
I know i said it was a pretty pointless exercise but I’m feeling in a pretty pointless mood this lunchtime.
Cheers

18 February 2010 at 5:32 pm #23050I did the BBC predictor thing and got the following:-
TOTTENHAM H LOSE
BIRMINGHAM A LOSE
LIVERPOOL H LOSE
BOLTON A DRAW
ASTON VILLA H DRAW
BURNLEY H WIN
MAN CITY A LOSE
FULHAM A DRAW
PORTSMOUTH H WIN
ARSENAL H LOSE
WEST HAM A DRAW
HULL H WIN
CHELSEA A LOSEGives us a total at the end of the season of 38 points. I lost one for fixture for 8 teams somewhere along the way which I guess is related to the re-arrangement of fixtures for the FA Cup 6th round or something.
My final table looks like this:-
Pos Team Pld Pts
10 Stoke 37 50
11 Fulham 37 41
12 Blackburn 38 41
13 Sunderland 38 38
14 Wigan 38 38
15 West Ham 38 34
16 Bolton 38 32
17 Hull 37 32
18 Burnley 38 29
19 Wolves 38 28
20 Portsmouth 37 26Not sure what everybody’s worried about
18 February 2010 at 5:33 pm #23051I agree with whoever is pretending to be VAT
Have you noticed how the pundits have stopped saying “it depends on which Wigan will turn up on the day” when giving their predictions?
18 February 2010 at 6:15 pm #23066It’s sensible to be pessimistic about Latics results, but even the worst teams have the odd shock result.
18 February 2010 at 6:52 pm #23074i think we will go down this season, just not good enough bobby was a backward step ,but hey who really cares championship will be more fun ;)
18 February 2010 at 7:07 pm #23077It’ll be more competitive but then again if you win enough Championship games, you end up back in the Premier League…..if we went down and werent challenging at Christmas, some people would be moaning we werent winning the matches to get us back into the league, they seem to want us to leave. How the hell does that work???
18 February 2010 at 7:17 pm #23079Competitive? It’ll be a bloody quagmire. Seen it lately? can’t really call the games.
Still, some good aways, cheaper prices, and overall more fan friendly.
Best thing about us staying up would be sticking two big fingers up at the press and establishment who don’t want us in the Premier league.
Worst thing about going down will be all the patronizing “well, they did well to last 5 seasons, but it was inevitable, eventually. Especially with their crowds….blah blah shyte.” from the media.

If you can call Blackpoo away at £24 for sitting in that stand cheaper fair play to ya
18 February 2010 at 7:20 pm #23083If you can call Blackpoo away at £24 for sitting in that stand cheaper fair play to yaAs opposed to £36 away at Bolton…….yeah, it is.
Overall, it IS cheaper. Face facts.
