Have to agree with this. Football fans are still treated like second class citizens and every fan is considered “a hooligan” just because they’re passionate about their team.
Obviously there are those that still want to have a fight (never understood it, never will) but the vast majority are just people looking to watch some live sport.
There are plenty of incidents at rugby matches these days especially the big events when people have been drinking all day and it always gets blamed on “football fans on a day out looking for trouble”. As if any football fan decides to go to a rugby game for a fight?!
I’m willing to bet there are a few “incidents” after a darts event as well with the amount of beer that gets drunk, but that’s considered to be a great time. Get 50 football fans in a pub having a drink and the police are all over the place.
