      5pm actually:

“Supporters travelling by coach will be taken to Brugge city centre upon arrival on Thursday. Transportation to the Jan Breydelstadium will then be on foot. Supporters are advised that the journey by foot is at least 45 minutes and a police escort will leave the centre of Brugges at approximately 5.00pm.

Supporters who have booked their journey through the official club partner will be dropped off and picked up from Brugges from a designated collection point.

Local police are willing to guide (walk) the Wigan Athletic fans in a group to the stadium from the meeting point for supporters; which is the main Market Square at 17:00. The stadium is a 35 to 45 minute walk.

Just avoid the square and make your own way there. I’ve been to Bruges before and there are loads of bars and cafes down side streets well away from the square if it’s just a few drinks you’re after.

Is there no parking near the ground? According to the message on the Suprters Club website the only parking at the ground is for coaches. We are driving there and the options seem either join the herd and walk for 45 minutes or catch a bus, the last one being at 4:30.

There is no public parking for any supporters. If you are travelling by car you will need to park in the streets around the stadium. Please be careful when parking, that it is a valid parking zone and pay for your ticket!

The public transport options to get to the stadium are poor. If you do not wish to walk [from the city centre] we would advise you to take a taxi to Doornstraat (visitor’s entry) for a cost of +/- €20.

I’ve posted the question for you Eccy on a FB group of people who “groundhop” to European grounds (and with a number of members from Belgium).

I’ll let you know of any replies – alternatively if you are on FB the group is

Just have a look for my post and any replies.

Thanks, Garswood. Will keep an eye on Facebook. There’s 4 of us so the taxi might be the best option
