I have had a season ticket at the Tics since before we moved to the JJB and will continue to buy one. However over the last 2 seasons if I was having to pay game by game by now I probably would not be going at all.
We are awful due to inept management and a chairman who sells all our best players rightly or wrongly. It is all having an effect on our support. We are becoming a joke and changes need to be made so come on Whelan surely you can see what everyone else can? Act now before it’s toooo late.
maybe he can see,we can see why,perhaps he is no longer botherd
when he has sold all he can i think he will be off
i also feel bob is his weapon to destroy the club sounds silly

Am not sure why people cant comprehend that Wigan need to sell to survive, do people want to end up like so many clubs that have almost gone to the wall….
And if you stop going to even one game, everyone will call you a JCL when you come back !!
As for Whelan, I think some people forget how bad the owners were in the past, at least Whelan promised something he delivered.
i think that is whats hapening,fans that are leaving are doing so because of the selling of best players
but we are bringing in some shyte hence the results
now the fans have a right to pick and choose any club to watch

let the rugby have this one after all they are on the up again and will start to fill it .I think everyone can accept that latics need to sell to survive but for me personally the conduct of Whelan in January 2009 still sticks in my throat
My hopes as a Latics fan have never been higher & Whelan (for all he’s done in the past) crushed any public perception of the club as ambitious beyond “staying up”.
Some 20 months later I can still see no reason for selling Heskey & Palacios (& offering Valencia the chance to go) when they did. It would have made far more sense to keep hold of the players until the summer, possibly qualify for Europe & used the lure of Europan football to attract a higher calibre of replacement for those players. As it was, Whelan looked short term & cost the club more in prize money than they got for flogging Heskey, we got a dreadful back end of the season, it ultimately cost Latics their manager & coaching staff (and look what its been replaced with!!!) and public interest in latics in Wigan has been drifting ever since
If Latics hadn’t qualified for Europe then those players could/would have been sold anyway & all it would have cost us would have been heskey’s feeI think the mess we’re in now can be traced back to Whelan’s decisions that month
The entertainment on offer is poor very poor,the manager is inept and there is unemployment in this SMALL town of ours on a very worrying scale, people are thinking I prefer to feed the kids and keep a roof over our heads rather than fork out for the dross that martinez is serving up and lets face it who can blame them :o

Leigh Sports Village for Cup Games – Genesis have moved out and Rugby don’t play on Tuesday or Wesnesday. 10’000 Capacity.
st helens wouldnt bother me none,always said be better for us to move to warrington or st helens boundarys ,most wiganers cant be botherd watching a local prem team.

Another reason why we get poor crowds is because half the town choose to `support`(normally on telly only) ManUre/Citeh/Liverpool/Everton rather than come along and support their local club!

Can’t believe some of the comments on here especially those along the lines of:
“move out and let the rugby fill the DW”….they could win everything for 10 years and they’d never consistenly fill it (see crowds from mid 80’s)
“not bothered by moving to St Helens”……we are WIGAN Athletic FC, not St Helens Athletic FC.
“Martinez is being used by Whelan to destroy us”…..really?
Truelatic got a fair amount of our poor crowd problem, absolutely spot on
