    It should have read:

“Got to agree – out of that list of teams who are “worse than us” 3 of the 5 have beaten us & in those games we’ve only scored 2 and conceded 9. In fact against all 5 teams we’ve only scored 4 & 2 of those were in a game where the opposition had 10 men for 80 minutes”

The game i was referring to with 2 goals against a team that had 10 men for 80 minutes was the Wolves game

In the real world, if you spent £6,000,000 of the company’s money on a machine that you said would increase production, and it didn’t. Can you see the M.D. backing you :?:

Also, if you did buy a machine for that amount of moeny, you wouldn’t start hitting it with hammers and abuse or even throw it out. You would try to work out why it wasn’t doing the job, work with and get the team behind it to help it be more productive.

Precisely. and if the production team can’t make it perform, as was expected??? Then get someone in who can. All providing the machine was as good as advertised in the first place.

Lets not also forget that if one of the company’s directors openly questionned the wisdom of buying the machine in the first place and was more or else pushed aside for doing so you would think that the manager responsible has staked alot against his knowledge of the company’s needs & ability to get the machine to increase productivity being greater than that of the director so that if he fails he should fall on his own sword

This analogy is very entertaining, but in industry, if you bought a machine in Argentina, you would know in advance if it was compatible to work in the UK. Likewise, its benefits would be mathematically proven prior to purchase.

Football is not a precise art, and footballers are humans, not machines. It will always come down to one opinion versus another, gut feelings, and personal relationships.

Football is full of failed big money signings who took time to settle, or who never settled at all. For every Boselli there’s a Berbatov, a Veron, or even an Elmander.

The machine’s not the issue as long as you use it for what it does best. There’s no point hoping that a machine that’s designed for putting away widgets given to it from a similar machine is going to produce grommets all by itself.

I suggest that they adjust the settings of this machine and set it to run concurrently with another similar machine to double productivity ! To use football as an analogy why not have 2 strikers up front !! ;)
