I think that only the most optimistic of fans expect us to get anything from tonight’s game.
But, Bolton’s result aside, the weekend didn’t go too badly and so even if we are to lose tonight (as long as we don’t get mullered) we are really no worse off than we were before.
So, that being said, let’s hope for a decent performance (from both the team and the fans) and send us into the Bolton game at the weekend reasonably confident of being able to do a job. Because let’s face it, the West Ham result aside, Bolton are still shyte.
8 March 2010 at 12:57 pm #25653I fancy us to get a result tonight, don’t know why, just a feeling.
We’ll be ok anyway, Hull, Burnley and Portsmouth are going down.
Fresh start from today.
8 March 2010 at 1:04 pm #25654In all honesty, I think they’ll have too much for us.
However, if we could get a draw, it would be a big, big point.
I think they are having a few problems with defensive injuries, but at the other end they have the likes of Torres, Gerrard and Kuyt, who can always pop up with a goal, so we are up against it.
Just hope we put a decent performance in, and keep the score relatively close, and don’t end up getting hammered.
In my opinion, the next couple of weeks could make or break our season. Unlike you Griff, I’m not that confident about Bolton away. They very nearly snatched it at the DW. Best we can hope for is that other strugglers drop points, and in the next few weeks we play them in some real six pointers. In all honesty, the fact is, if we down, it’s because we deserve to.

8 March 2010 at 3:02 pm #25673Going off present form of both teams goalwise 0-0 at 11-1 looks a bit tempting !

Well, I would snatch 0-0, right now.You just know though that someone who is scratching a round for a bit of form or a goal will pop uo and nick it in the last minute – my guess will be that Italian Aqualung fella. 84 minutes.

Hopefully it will be Jason Scotland that pounces at the far post to notch up his first PL goal.

I’d also like to stress that I bought him when he was a Palace player.
8 March 2010 at 4:02 pm #25681Unless we start scoring and get a run together, we will go down. With Liverpool, and Bolton now in form, Dingles, as well as City and Fulham away, things look tricky for us. We need to buck the trend for the obvious results for Wigan (Ala Chelski earlier in the season), tonight is the chance for us to do that……
I am now beyond the point of undue worry, what ever happens happens, go on Wigan impress me and prove we deserve to stay up. !
