Kone looks good
There is enough competition to cover key player injuries e.g. Beaussajor
we created a very good number of chances against the champions of europe
Were not in the relegation zone
Well done Roberto goodpost goodpost goodpost
20 August 2012 at 4:42 am #91763We’re above Liverpool :)
20 August 2012 at 12:56 pm #91767We will be reet.
20 August 2012 at 2:04 pm #91768All positive if you ask me-great character from Latics after the goals from Chelsea and easily deserved something from the game.
The squad looks stronger and is probably the most settled one we have had for a good few years.Kone,Ramis (the first goal wasnt his fault -(world class play from Hazard)look good signings. This team WILL get goals and has bags of pace in it and real hunger and fight and im sure we will get our first three points next saturday regardless of Southampton’s bright start yesterday.
Another positive were the extra supporters who turned up yesterday adding to the atmosphere and creating a very positive feel around the ground.
The club is on the up now that is for sure and we will stay in this division without a doubt with more performances like that.20 August 2012 at 2:39 pm #91770All positive if you ask me-great character from Latics after the goals from Chelsea and easily deserved something from the game.

It can be put down to rush of blood to the head due to circumstances of EPL debut !! Di Santo can claim a fair chunk of the blame as well for not doing what 15,000 home fans wanted him to do !! :(

And I dont think Ramis or anyone else for that matter was expecting Ivanovic to do his Usain Bolt impression…
So while he could of done better so could Figs for getting back quicker and Al Habsi for his very questionable positioning.

Not quite sure Ivanovic is U Bolt but yes, both Figs and Ali could have done better positionally – Ali shouldn’t have been beaten on near post Poor ball from Di Santo set the whole thing up…
20 August 2012 at 6:51 pm #91786Had this been the first game of last season or the season before, if we’d let two goals in in the first six minutes, we’d have shipped five or six by the end of the game.
Di Santo has to be one of the most infuriating players we’ve had for a long time. If his talent matched his confidence he’d be a world beater.
