If RM flogs Bainsey and secures Powell as part of the deal; can our season long loan be withdrawn by Man Utd.
17 November 2013 at 11:53 pm #123537Depends on the terms of the loan contract
18 November 2013 at 12:01 am #123538Powell may be promising but Martinez already has Barkley.
Does he need both?
18 November 2013 at 1:40 am #123543He’ll probably take Powell from us in January just to sit on the bench like Mr Kone.
If this comes off I will be convinced that Martinez just wants to see us fail. :(

What a journey!18 November 2013 at 1:51 am #123544Why don’t we use some of our McCarthy stash and try to buy the lad ? , Baines will be at Utd regardless of Powell.
18 November 2013 at 4:14 am #123546Manchester United value Powell much more highly than McCarthy – and they don’t want to sell.
Enjoy him while you can.
18 November 2013 at 1:57 pm #123550I think Moyes would be slated if they were to let Powell go to Everton especially after the way Utd conducted themselves in the summer transfer window.

I think that his actions in his current post are more indicative of him wanting to be as successful as possible there rather than any malice towards his previous employers – that includes if he is also making noises about bringing Powell in

Fair enough, but by the same token, there are far better players out there than Nick Powell, that are established prem players so could walk into the Everton team. After all he as promised BK Champions League football and with the wadge of dosh he’ll get from the sale of LB, he should be able to get the right players in, not a promising young kids who has had a few good games for a Championship team.
Lets hope it doesn’t happen, for our sake and Nick Powell’s.

You spend far too much time dwelling on Martinez. He has a new life devoted to building up Everton, not undermining Wigan.
He’s unlikely to sign Powell – he already has a good quota of midfield players. And he can hardly develop Barkley and Powell side by side.
He bought Kone as an alternative centre forward to Jelavic. The opportunity to sign Lukaku came later – and he would have been a fool to turn it down. Meanwhile, Kone has had an knee operation, so he won’t be sitting on the bench again this season.

I think there is as much chance of me playing up front for Latics on Saturday as there is of Martinez beinf sufficently small-minded as youare and/or to make your theory plausible.
You anti-Martinez brigade make yourself look dafter and dafter with each post you make on this subject. As Barnsley says, let it go – everyone else with at least half a brain cell already has.
