Contract up in summer as we all know
Personally I wouldn’t offer him a new contact
The amount he costs in wages compared to what he contributes doesn’t warrant it in my book
I know he is a god to some but he always injured and very rarely finishes a game
Tin hat on but what do you reckon22 April 2019 at 9:26 pm #178333Depends on his demands but tend to agree with you.
22 April 2019 at 9:29 pm #178335I’ve a feeling he might be offered a new one, now our league status has been sorted.
22 April 2019 at 9:35 pm #178336Again it’s all about value……certainly been none this season. Injuries yes……but that’s been his achilles throughout his career so far.
22 April 2019 at 9:57 pm #178338didnt look at all interested today
22 April 2019 at 10:02 pm #178341Cant argue about his his quality probably down to length of contract as to what he decides.
Give him 3 or 4 years he’ll snatch the pen to sign.22 April 2019 at 10:07 pm #178343didnt look at all interested todayThought that myself.
He’ll be useful to keep, but I won’t be in tears if he doesn’t.
Too hit and miss for me.22 April 2019 at 10:15 pm #178345Powells probably one of the most gifted players at the club, if he’s staying they need to sort his fitness out and sort his head out
23 April 2019 at 12:15 am #178369A long contract is what hes looking for hes had big offers before and signed for Man U so now were safe I think theres a good chance he would sign if we offer what he wants.
23 April 2019 at 12:30 am #178370The way he’s finished this season I wouldn’t be pushing the boat out. If we’re paying above and beyond, we need someone who can play 90 minutes, week in, week out.
TBH, I’d be worried for Powell’s long-term future, if he went to a club who couldn’t manage his injuries. What is he now, 24/25. He could be retired by 30 if he’s not careful.
23 April 2019 at 1:13 am #178376I apologise for my language but he was fuckin useless when he came on and looked out of his depth.
23 April 2019 at 11:45 am #178386How about…………
Sell Powell & buy reece James????????
23 April 2019 at 12:15 pm #178387Chelsea have already said James is not for sale…. now our problem is replacing Reece ..he been absolutely top player for us this season.
23 April 2019 at 12:21 pm #178388How about…………Sell Powell & buy reece James????????
United are sniffing after him with a price tag around £15 million.
We need to accept he is going on to higher things at a bigger club, and make sure work is going on behind the scenes to get us further good promising loan signings.
The fact that we have helped Reece to develop will hold us in good stead.
At the ssame time we can develop our own, but we still need high calibre future internationals at an early stage of their careers.23 April 2019 at 12:25 pm #178389I’m just living in dream world with regards signing James. I honestly cannot think of a young player we have had since the likes of Peter Atherton with so much maturity beyond his tender years.
