I don’t know if the club read this board, but if they do, then I hope they take heed of this post!
The preparation for next season has to start NOW. Because we are up in the air manager wise, and quite rightly, we should now wait and see just who is available and looking for a new challenge at the seasons end, it has to be up to someone else to at least plan some kind of pre season programme out, regarding friendlies and training camp plans.
Forget the likes of United and Liverpool bringing fringe teams here, those are an absolute waste of time. As are playing the likes of Macclesfield and Chester, which will provide us with nothing useful to see where we are at and how we shape up. I’d be more inclined to aim for games against such likes as Preston, Huddersfield and Sheffield United, this seasons league one champions, to see how we fair. We need ‘competitive’ friendlies this summer. I think we were too cocky and blasé about things last summer. We thought we were better than we are. I’d also like us to go back to an Austria training camp, play a couple of games out there against foreign opposition.
But somebody at the club is going to have to get to work on this NOW! We can’t wait until a new manager comes in, because it might only be end of June and it’ll be too late then. JONATHAN JACKSON, it’s over to you to get these things planned!Next season will be ‘driven’ by our preparations over the summer. We have to get the pre season spot on and get the ball rolling so we hit the ground running in August. I’d also start pre season training a week or two earlier than usual, concentrating on nothing but fitness (plenty running and fit tests) for those two weeks, before the balls are brought into training. If we start off the season fitter and leaner than other sides in league one, then that’s one advantage, before ability even comes into play.
We can dissect this season and be miserable about it until the cows come home….or we can look ahead and work towards addressing the situation and turning ourselves into WINNERS again.
We are ALL in this together! Roll on August.
30 April 2017 at 3:15 pm #158531Should have started after the Bristol City home game. May as well have done from the way Barrow has set the team up the towel had well and truly been chucked in.
30 April 2017 at 3:27 pm #158532Morsy omission has puzzled me..I don’t believe he’s been injured.

Fuck the EFL
30 April 2017 at 3:35 pm #158534There was an incident in the tunnel at half time in the barnsley game, I believe Morsy had a bit of a scrap and Barrow had to get involved. He’s not played him since then.
He’d be one of first on my team sheet and captain if Warnock didn’t play. A midfielder who has a dig when he gets chance. Keep him and he will be epic next season.
30 April 2017 at 3:52 pm #158535Keep him and play him in position. Attacking midfielder who can take players on.
What do we do? Straight from the negative coaching book written by Latics. Play him as a deep defensive midfielder then drop him for underperforming and replace him with players from Derby or Fulham who don’t deem them good enough to play for them.
This pathetic shit has to stop.30 April 2017 at 4:49 pm #158536I don’t know if the club read this board, but if they do, then I hope they take heed of this post!

And if you can do all that, you will be a man my son.
In all honesty vat, a very positive & upbeat post.
30 April 2017 at 6:08 pm #158540No use wallowing, we’ve got ourselves into this mess, so let’s get ourselves out of it.
Easier said than done, I know. But we could pick through the bones of this season all summer and moan and groan…what use will it do? I know one thing though. Not ONE loan player would play next weekend if I were picking the team. It would be 100% contracted Latics players, maybe even give Jussi a game in goal. Prep for next season starts right now. Nothing must go unmissed, or skipped over. Get solidly prepared and come August, start as we mean to go on by winning 3 nil first game of the season. Fly high all season and be promoted with games to spare. This squad should walk league one…especially if we get the right manager in who makes the right 4 or 5 quality additions to the squad. Had we brought the right bloke in when we brought Joyce in, even if it had been Barrow, we would’ve stayed up, I’m sure of that.
We’ve had a nightmare season…shocking. now we draw a line under it and concentrate on next season and putting it right.

Perhaps he’s a disruptive influence – a poor man’s Joey Barton. It may explain why GC shipped him off on loan.
I think he’ll be peddled this summer – perhaps something was written into his contract that he signed in January to the effect that he could leave for X amount if we were relegated.
30 April 2017 at 9:36 pm #158549For me, he’s exactly what we have missed all season. A midfielder who wants to go forward and have a dig, not just pass sideways.
