I know we have had them before and there are only a few days to go but do any of the moderators or powers that be fancy setting up a Prediction League for the coming season.
Without being rude, why would we have the time to set up and run a league more than anyone else?

I am running one on vital, if anyone on here would like to join in they can do it via this site if they don’t want to go on vital, I don’t mind posting the fixtures and league tables on here as well.

It then costs £10 to enter this can be paid by Paypal or cash, this money will all be paid out as prize money, at the moment we have 20 who have joined so there will be a manager of the month winner for highest scorer in the calendar month(£10 x 10) and cash prizes for the overall winner, 2nd and third (£50,30,20) at the end of the season.
The league is also being sponsored by Wigan awaytravel, who have provided an impressive trophy for the champion to have there name engraved on it and keep it for the following season.
If anyone else joins the prize money will be adjusted accordingly.

Sorry the game format will be:- championship games only, points scored on weekend or full midweek programs only, 2 points correct prediction – 3 points extra for a correct score – eg. if you predict 1-1 draw and the game finishes 0-0 you get 2 points if you predict the 0-0 you get 5 points and so on.

Sorry George, I just thought it was something that Cockney Latic might run to try to drum up a bit of interest in the site.
There were plenty people with time to have a decent site and fanzine at one time, but it seems times have changed.
As for doing it myself, unfortunately I struggle with smiley faces and things like that, so to actually do something that entailed computing skills is way beyond me unfortunately.I run one, have done for years, but it’s just for people I like :kiss:Isn’t yours a fantasy football league where you bought a squad for a set price then trade them and score points on how they perform in games?
Can you post details about it , is it open to everyone? Is there still time to join?
I run two competitions.
The one you are talking about, the Dream League, is a bit of a closed shop, I’m afraid. We only have 16 managers in it and it’s been going for 25 years and is dead men’s shoes. Harder to get into than Mother Teresa’s knickers. :P
I also run a Prediction League. However, I only administer the scoring part of it. Someone else looks after recruitment and finance aspects and he is a bit picky about who he lets in. That’s partly to keep the numbers to a manageable size (we currently have about 85) and partly to make sure there are no issues with the collection and administration of fees.
Sorry if that sounds a bit anti-social but, to answer your question – no, it isn’t open to all. :(
If I didn’t have those two things to run (amongst other things) I’d probably have volunteered to run one on here on behalf of the site. I just don’t have the time.
Thanks for your reply, it was with you saying you ran one I thought it could be an opportunity to have a group off here, it seems judging on the response though not many are bothered
