Cookie looks like he’s improved us from last season. 6 points from the drop. Good lad!
Improved??? That was garbage tonight. The football was dire, boring and unwatchable at times. Grateful for the points but that football was atrocious.[/quote]
Not the best of games admittedly. But a win is a win – however we achieve it. Whether it’s a good performance a la Charlton, or a scrappy, atrocious performance like tonight. Do you think liverpool fans bemoaned the performance against Sheffield United? No! They admitted it was a scrappy hard fought win – one which they would gladly take. A win is a win.
2 October 2019 at 3:02 am #181178Admit he’s doing well at home but some of the football was atrocious….Strikers really no hope of netting over 5 goals a season. Some of the worst service from wide I’ve seen us play in years.Yep! Agree with you on that one.
William’s non effective in holding role ,
Give over! He shows his inexperience at times. But he is very good at breaking up play & creating a chance. He also works very well with morsy.
Massey not good enough against a poor Birmingham side.
Not one of his better games. But lowe was equally as ineffective on the other side.
Away against Wednesday will be a big test…..really do need to change tactics….
Well it’s an away game. So I guess we will all wait with baited breath. Although we probably know the outcome unless he does change tactics.
2 October 2019 at 3:08 am #181180Great win against Charlton, poor win tonight. Both still 3 points.
Just wish we could get something away from home.
2 October 2019 at 3:28 am #181182I thought we played better tonight than we did against Charlton, creating a few chances from open play.
But Birmingham were one of the worst teams we’ll see all season and so we shouldn’t have blown them away and not been hanging on at the end.
Don’t know if it’s tactics or confidence but there’s talent in that team that just can’t get going
2 October 2019 at 3:46 am #181184Williams was totally ineffective, how many break up play soldiers do we need ? Not 1 ounce of creativity in the side. Windass did better than most but unless we get players wide and provide service then set pieces remain our only goal threat. That was piss poor tonight.
2 October 2019 at 10:55 am #181190A poor game but some encouraging performances from one or two ,Lowe and Bryne were better last night.
Marshall has really settled in now also
Pattern of last season very evident , home wins , away defeats and a negative pattern throughout.
On track for 50-55 points if the pattern stays the same.
Shouldnt we expect more though ?
That said a win is a win regardless of how fortuitous the goal was.2 October 2019 at 11:15 am #181191Problem is we wont keep winning at home unless we score a lot more goals. We don’t normally do clean sheets so it’s been good to have 2 at the DW recently. Most other teams in this division are capable of scoring against us at home so Cookie has to address the problem of our strikers not just on our travels. COYL
2 October 2019 at 11:54 am #1811923 home clean sheets in a row actually
Not bad but up front is more of a problem at the moment .
A point on Saturday would be an achievement but is anybody expecting anything when we have only won 2 away since August 2018 ????2 October 2019 at 11:54 am #1811933 home clean sheets in a row actually
