The Cup Final situation was funny because I thought it was a penalty and the referee bottled it, but I still think McManaman got the last touch and if it wasn’t a foul, which it was, it should have been a goal kick.
The referees cheating soon backfired on him, and there were no complaints 30 seconds later.
I still pinch myself some days and can’t believe we won the FA Cup. The feeling when that header went in………………. I still get goosebumps when ever I see it.
26 January 2017 at 10:30 pm #154629I actually forgot the Chimbonda one and was referring to the Heskey one at The Emirates lol.
Good discussion TL and good to see things from the other side of the fence.

My words to the guy next to me “we will just have to score from the corner as I don’t fancy extra time”
I think winning with a penalty would have taken the edge off it though.
26 January 2017 at 11:40 pm #154634It was once suggested on here that the FA were in cahoots with the match officials to get us out of the Prem!! I’m a bit of a conspiracy theorist but that was a ludicrous thing to come out with!
27 January 2017 at 12:39 am #154635I do think we got far more wrong decisions given against us than ones that went our way.
I don’t believe any ref is biased as such, but they are human and consciously or otherwise they know if they give a contentious one or any major decision like a sending off where there’s even the slightest of doubt ….against Feruson or Wenger and the like and they’ll get pasted by them on TV, the back pages will be full of it and it will run on for days on Talksport and the like
and they’ll be castigated all over the shop.Give those dodgy decisions against Wigan or Burnley or Blackpool Etc….. and it’s ” so what?”
27 January 2017 at 12:58 am #154636That is basically my thoughts on it Zeb. At one point Martinez could re-decorate his office with apologies.
John Moss is totally re-writing this thread though tonight lol.

Like I said trial by media. Media are not arsed about Wigan Burnley Blackpool etc. Fergie Wenger Mourhinio etc sell media.
They may take notice of us on Monday morning though when Yanic skins the cheating red shite. -
