I wonder whether sometimes you can over analyse football. To watch a match 8 times looking for solutions tells me there are lots of solutions to find. Good Luck!

15 January 2012 at 3:50 pm #78220I often think that RM should watch the game from the stands since you get a better overall view of the game, than at pitch level. He might not need to wear out his VHS so much.

So why do we make the same mistakes EVERY WEEK!!?

He might not need to wear out his VHS so much.I’ve never understood why managers don’t watch from higher up, as you must get a better view. Still, not many of them do and they must have their reasons, so I don’t know why we should expect Roberto to be totally different to all the others. and I’ll guarantee that if he did, he’d be slagged off mercilessly for being different ;)
15 January 2012 at 5:07 pm #78229I must agree. I used to watch the game next to the managers and the view is awful, and all of these managers who say “the ball was clearly out” or “that trip was in the box” are talking through their backsides.
It is probably one of the worst places to see how things are panning out.
But it’s every manager that does it, so we can’t blame RM for this one.

The obvious disadvantage is that they don’t have direct communication with the players and coaching staff. Some managers do or have because I don’t see many of them in the directors box anymore. And they don’t view the match from their elevated position for too long either and always end up on the touchline before the game is too far gone. -
