If you could take just one, which would it be?:
Promotion back to the Premier League at first go or back to back FA Cup triumphs?
You can’t have both!
FA Cup for me.

3 April 2014 at 11:26 pm #129316FA CUP for me, all those fans in the prem who say survival over winning a trophy CRAP, that’s cause they have won nothing ,ask the Arsenal fans what they want and FA CUP is top of the list let’s ruin Arsenes party .However we need the money of the premiership to maintain a decent squad, I’m puzzled .NO FA CUP IT IS .
3 April 2014 at 11:38 pm #129318last year f.a cup or staying in the prem, i said f.a cup, this year its got to be cup again, want that feeling again and i quite like the championship.
4 April 2014 at 12:41 am #129321Definitely FA Cup – would mean we’re back in Europe too.
4 April 2014 at 1:18 am #129325No debate whatsoever needed
FA Cup
That FA cup win and subsequent European campaign raised the profile of our club far more than those eight seasons in the Premier league ever did.
It changed our club forever – the premier league didnt4 April 2014 at 1:20 am #129326F A Cup all day long and anyway we will be going up next season if not this.

C’mon and climb down off that safe fence man! We would all love to do the double but…if only one memory could be taken to your desert island as your final reminder of WAFC, would it be the team that got back to the Premier League at the first attempt after relegation in 2014 (acknowledged on SSN for 12 hours after promotion) or the team that won back to back FA Cups (indelibly engraved into football’s hall of fame for eternity)?
No right or wrong answers in this, just perception. Thank you.
4 April 2014 at 12:07 pm #129340The Cup any day
4 April 2014 at 1:10 pm #129345Promotion.
You can win the cup any old year, but you can’t get promoted every year.
4 April 2014 at 1:25 pm #129347Promotion for me too. We used to moan about being last on MOTD all the time, but at least we were on it. To be up there on merit with the big teams week in, week out makes wet December midweek games in Sheffield worthwhile.
4 April 2014 at 1:27 pm #129348FA Cup.
First lower division side to win it since 1980 and the first to defend the trophy since the 50s I believe.
4 April 2014 at 2:28 pm #129351Very close call this year between the two.
Last season definitely win the cup over staying up.
I miss the TV coverage of the Prem, if not the politics and over hype! To defend the cup would put us on the map forever (if we aren’t already on it  )
Last season’s cup run we did get a lot of luck in the draw, Everton aside, to the final. No critic, even Mowbray, could say we’ve been lucky this year with the draw!
I’ll go for win the cup again, just

You might be right with teh first bit of that, but in my lifetime alone (since 1975), Tottenham won it 2 years on the bounce (81 & 82), Arsenal won it 2 years on the bounce (2002 & 2003) & so did Chelsea (2009 & 2010)
Going back a bit further, Spurs also won it in successive years in 1961 & 19624 April 2014 at 2:44 pm #129355Just read that whilst we had the doubtful honour of being the first team to be relegated and win the cup, there is a precedent for winning the cup and being promoted to the top flight.
West Brom in 1930-1 apparently.
You just never know with football ;) :woohoo:
