Assuming we have the same pubs as last time. Any recommendations/dont go within a barge pole?
I managed to visit a few – purely research.
The Torch 1 – 5 Bridge Road, Wembley, HA9 9AB Crock of Gold 23 Bridge Road, Wembley, HA9 9AB Moore Spice Wembley Retail Park, Unit 2, Engineers Way, HA9 0EH Watkins Folly 1 Empire Way, Wembley, HA9 0EW Blue Check Café 12 – 13 Empire Way, Wembley, HA9 0RQ Alisan Bar The Junction, Wembley Retail Park, Engineers Way, HA9 0EG Crystal Club (Silverspoon) South Way, Wembley The Parish 120 Wembley Park Drive, Wembley, HA9 8HP First Class Sports Bar 125 Wembley Park Drive, HA9 8HG The Wembley Tavern 121 Wembley Park Drive, HA9 8HG Cheers Bar 45 Blackbird Hill, NW9 8RS
The Torch – packed…really packed with an outside to get wet in. Big on the inside. Lots of singing and standing on tables. Good atmosphere until it turned into a disco.
Crock of Gold – just a bit closer to the station than the one above. Bit of a queue to get in. Busy but lots more children than elsewhere. Tiny (the pub, not the children)
Wembley Tavern – couldnt get in but looking through the window at the mate i was supposed to be meeting, looked good.
At this point the research conducted at the Torch kicked in. Opposite the Wembley was another tiny place – it could have been the Parish or 1st Class. I have no idea. Either way it was quiet, small places to sit, lots of older 50s/60s fans and the only place I had to show my ticket and have my pag looked at.
Due to my circumstances for the Semi I couldn’t partake in any of the pubs but most of my friends were in The Torch and said the atmosphere was great. Having an outside bit will be awesome if its a nice day. My train gets in to Euston at 9, by the time I’ve checked in at the hotel and made my way to Wembley I should be one of the first arrivers in the Torch. Can’t wait.
We were dropped off at a pub called the Preston ( I know, couldn’t write it), it was about 10-15 minutes from wembley. Pretty big but it was quite busy. Only £3.09 a pint though so cheap for landan.
went in the crystal club two minutes walk from our end good atmosphere easy to get served bloke going round with microphone to get everyone singing spoiled a bit by scousers singing anti thatcher songs and throwing ale. ok if its raining and you dont fancy a walk
Had a couple of pints in the Moore Spice, bars on three levels and reasonable prices also serving food however quite a few Millwall fans let in by the door staff which surprised me a bit as I thought it was one of our allocated pubs.
