McCarthy and McAurthur even though they were both picked in their respective Scotland and Ireland squads, don’t get a sniff, despite players from championship teams being picked.
Says alot about our quality when two of our first team players cant can’t even get on the bench of third rate international teams, before lower league players.
I would imagine McCarthy foo ked his own chances up with the Irish Manager and Mc Author hasnt had a run in the Wigan team to justifie a start for Scotland .Yey it’s strange you don’t mention Caldwell in your comments who gets slated on hear but starts for scotland regular
Adam and Fletcher were in before Mc Auther. Lower league?
Perhaps you should check the facts before typing, then again you are by no means the first or worse on here at doing that.
If you care to look at what i said and look at the line ups you may see players from football giants cardiff, middlesborough, ipswich town and birmingham city have all got MIDFIELD players in the scotland and ireland teams (inc subs) before our illustrious pair.
I will be giving orrell water park a try in the next couple of days -2 or 3 hours on both lakes practice for the Peter Taylor memorial match on sunday, i’ve not fished it for years so need to have a look to give me some idea for sunday. btw i never, ever, liked bossley, back up venue when the winter league matches on the dove were flooded out, cold wet soulless place.
Waterworth won a turkey there once in the PA fur and feather, still tells me on the rare occasions i see him, even though it was over 20 years ago.
John Waterworth,Wartey, ex Blackpool prop forward?
i have only seen him perhaps 3 or 4 times in the last 10 years, and he says every time i see him – “i saw your name in the angling times, you won a match at ****”, and goes on to say ” match anglere i’ve s**t em – do you remember when i beat you that time on bossley”
i remember fishing behind the barn on dinkley pool, if you remember we had to wait outside the gate until 6.00 am – i was reading the sunday people and the rugby league column and it said ” ex wigan, swinton and blackpool prop john waterworth will make his final apperance today before retiring” i had to wake him up and tell him “john your playing today” – “bugger that” he replied “its the first time we have ever been at the front of this queue, i’m having that run off peg”
Get on R.Yarrow..150yds before it meets the Ribble..plenty of chub..cocktail over hemp..
The River Yarrow does not run into the Ribble – it joins the River Lostock and flows into the River Douglas just west of Croston, which in turn runs into the Ribble on Longton Marsh and as i used to shoot wildfowl there I can tell you nobody catches chub there, its just a tidal mudflat.
