which ex-England international was coming on as a substitute against Wigan at Springfield Park but had forgot to put his shirt on under his tracksuit and was therefore sent back down the tunnel by the referee leaving his team with only 10 men for a short period?
Is he widely considered to be quite ugly?

Slight pedantic point – he didn’t leave them with 10 men as he never got on, and it wasn’t the referee that sent him to get it but Kevin Keegan, his manager. He took his training top off and was stood waiting to go on, as we all looked in amazement at him (I was in the tunnel a yard or so behind). Keegan said “where’s your shirt?” and PB looked embarrassed and ran off down the tunnel to get it, to much tutting (and laughter) from his own bench.
Two of the best goalkeepers to play in the English League system made their debuts against Wigan Athletic. One played for Crewe and the other for Bury.
Who are they?
