dont get excited we were still crap-they missed a sitter-ali made 2 good saves(one a top class save)and had about 10 corners to our none in the first half.
some positives we can still make 50 sideways/backward passes and then hoof it foward against 2nd division teams as well as premiership ones.
oh i almost forgot gomez is still crap.

Did you go, or watch it via some other means?[/quote]no i actually went me my kids and about 150 others -got to admit i enjoyed the occasion was like an away game 20 years ago – come to think of it the owd uns at the game were the same faces i used to see 20 years ago only less hair and more walking sticks !!!
25 August 2010 at 2:48 pm #44114Did you go to the same match?
Gomez was best player on the pitch by some distance!

its obvious you didnt go or dont know the first thing about football
gomez was his usual self -garbage –
i will just cut and paste a couple of comments off the hartlepool.net site where a couple of stupid wiganers who ALSO did not go are giving it mr big…
take a note of the hartlepools fans thoughts on gomez.
edged the first half?? you having a laugh?, have you read the reports in the morning papers, regular use of the word ‘flattering’ mate, also ‘pools created the better openings’, (thats a direct quote not my opinion by the way) second half your superior fitness told. and by the way, you SHOULD be outclassing teams like hartlepool, thas why your players are on 25k a week and pools’ lads are on a grand. ask yourself, was gomez £24k a week better than our players?, i think we all know the answert to that, certainly the ones that were there anyway.
weak latics team?? that was your first team!! first half a neutral would have struggled to tell which side was premier league and which was league one! it’s a good job that number 14 can hit a dead ball cos he couldn’t pass wind! he’s useless, and rodallega looked rubbish against league one defenders leg alone premiership players. good luck for the rest of the season, play like that and you’ll need it!!
btw the no 14 in question is gomez.

Only reason I ask is that I listened to it on 5-live who, although saying we rode our luck a bit and only really did just enough to win, were saying that Gomez was clearly the key player for us. I must admit, the phrase “flat-track bully” came to mind when they were saying this. Where did he play, in the middle? The guy on 5-live also described at least one easy wasted one-on-one wih the keeper each for Rodallega and Boselli.
A long way from being out of the woods yet I guess, but 3-0 is acceptable enough, all things considered. Something to build on, I think is the vernacular ;)

Why do we attract such cretins as fan? For your information Loudmouth i can guarantee that i did go. In my eyes he was a cut above the rest. Looked assured on the ball, Set up two goals and produced the moment of the match woth the free kick.
On your second point i can assure you i do know a thing or too about football. I was actually paid to play the game for 7 years and if you care to PM me i will justify this fact. Now run along self righteous one!
25 August 2010 at 7:06 pm #44135btw the no 14 in question is gomez.Isn’t Gomez 15? :?

Are you Roy Carrol by any chance ;)
25 August 2010 at 8:40 pm #44143Afraid not Jimmy. 3 years full time, 4 years semi-pro. Just annoys me how you express an opinion on here and suddenly your accused of being not only a liar but also clueless. Last night without doubt Gomez was our best performer. That is my opinion. Cant remember a time in last 2 years that somebody scored one and set two goals up for us. Still what would i know? Some folk on here are tactical geniuses!

Cant remember a time in last 2 years that somebody scored one and set two goals up for us. Still what would i know? Some folk on here are tactical geniuses!did you happen to see the countless times he made bad passes – granted the free kick was a good un as i have already stated, but if the goalkeeper had listened to advice he would have saved it ,gomez played 3 foward passes all night- the 3 goals -the first i would expect under 14s sunday league to be able to lob a ball into the box and the third he prodded it 5 yards forward to moses who ran another 15 yards – beat a man and scored hardly an asist.
anyway i stick by what i said “if you think gomez was the best player on show last night”(and i add they were all pretty poor)
your clueless.
25 August 2010 at 9:54 pm #44154oh and i forgot to add
martinez had a full and long professional career and he is more clueless than anything i accuse you of.
