Let’s be honest, ok, we are shi*e. You know it, I know it, most people on here know it, probably Martinez and Whelan, etc, know it.
But if we get relegated, tough titty. It’ll be because we ARE shi*e. The only ‘R.I.P’ will be applicable to the tainted legend of one of the best players we had in the lower divisions. As nice a bloke as you will ever meet. Ok, it’s going so, so, wrong, but let’s be honest, if we go down, Wigan Athletic will hardly die.
If anything it will get ‘refreshed’. The prima-donna’s will want away. Good fecking riddance. The bunch of ‘mercenaries’ and foreigners who are wanting to use us as a springboard to a big money move will both feck off at the first opportunity, and they’ll stop coming. Perhaps in turn we’ll assemble a side full of hungry BRITISH lads, and players who want to do well FOR Wigan Athletic, not just themselves. Honesty. A team to be liked.
Did we die in 1993 when we got relegated to the basement? No. Good times and bad times, following ANY club. Truth is, we’ve been bloody spoiled over the past 10 years.
Just remember, Martinez is in a no-win situation here. We are rubbish. We look in danger of relegation. Yet we all expect him to bring some quality players in, this transfer window.
Would YOU fancy coming to us if you were a player? I wouldn’t. Perhaps Roberto would be best walking away. More for himself, than anything.
Oh yes, I mean this is a dire time for us. We’re really a club in turmoil. I mean we’ve lost one game haven’t we!!! Personally, I thought we were going to win every game. Walk the title and attract the likes of Kaka and Messi to the DW. Considering this hasn’t happened I’m shocked! Even Chris Hutchings would have won the League with us.
Martinez out now!! We need a manager that can meet the fans expectations. Unless we win every game, I’m afraid we’ll have to sack whoever’s in charge.

Fair points. Life is far from over if the club go down. It’s just a shame that we have to plumb the depths before it happens – and solutions don’t seem to be so far away. Wolves ressies only lost 3-O at Utd and their first team won at Spurs- as did Stoke. Our best 11 is as good as the bottom 9 if they can be revved up. Bet RM wonders what he’s done though.
We lost one game !!!1 WTF are you on son !! We have lost 10 out of 19 and have a goal diff of -23 !! Fulham who we managed to draw with and looked average didnt roll over in fact they battled their socks off and hammered Utd 3-0 so if they can do that why cant we at least show some guts and put up even half a battle instead of rollin over for the umpteenth time this season !

Yes, but it’s funny how people see this game as the final straw, like it was some kind of relegation six pointer we’ve lost 5-0!! People were even saying Martinez out after the Wolves defeat!! People need to wake up to the fact that we’re Wigan, not Real Madrid, or even Birmingham for that matter.

Yes we lost 5-0, but we still have respect from the chairman, manager and players.
Yes we are Wigan and we are 5 yrs now in the Prem with a worse team than we came up with !! Its not always about the ability your supposed to have as a player its about how you perform on the pitch and how much desire you have and I’m afraid to say we dont have any more than 2 such players now !
Well, no we have a better team than we came up with. We over achieved that season as spirits were very high, and we had a great team spirit. We seem to lack that at the minute, but the quality is alot higher.
A lot of people have worked hard to get us where we are, and a lot harder to keep us there.But we will not anymore support a team of non tryers,and just take the money.After 63 years I wll stop supporting Wigan Athletic.Sorry you DO NOT deserve ME.GOODBYE………

Perhaps we had a team full of graft and guile?
Perhaps we had belief? (PJ was a big believer in motivational ‘signs’ around the place. And what about that speech at Bramhall lane? Quality)
This current side has none of it. Sinking like a stone.
