Such a tragic waste of a young life.
RIP young man.
12 February 2011 at 3:04 pm #59207God bless you young Tom, you will be sadly missed. :(
We often give a minutes silence before games for people in football who we haven’t met, didn’t know, may have disliked, hated our club and had lived a full and fortuitous life.
While its still sad when these people depart, you were just starting out in life and was and will always be, one of us.Before today’s game, when walk on his ringing around Anfield, I for one will give you my own minutes silence and hope that the troubles you obviously had, are now put to bed and you can rest in peace.
You Are and Always Will be Our Sunshine
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!12 February 2011 at 7:00 pm #59216Very sad news.
What makes it worse is that her mum found him in his bedroom and it’s almost 2 years since she lost her partner Darren.

12 February 2011 at 8:29 pm #59223RIP Tom.
Makes me think that maybe the club should do something for a true fan.
We have a minutes silence when an ex player passes away but why not loyal fans? We are just as part of the club. As much as I hate Bolton I love what they have done at the Reebok and allowed families to buy a section outside the ground to have a plaque for their fans. I’m not saying lets copy them exactly, but something at the ground to show that true Wigan Athletic fans would be remember would be nice.BTW this is not a darkside dig at the club before Landgate jumps on me, its just a nice thought.

My mate died a couple of years ago,(Septicemia) he was 19 and even though his dad went to the stadium to have his name put in the program they managed to get his name wrong in the program :crying-yellow: …..His family where gutted has you can imagine….Poor show wigan ath! I defend wigan ath when i feel they need defending but i also criticise the club when i feel they are wrong! Does anyone remember the kid ejected from ES2 for standing on a seat even though he has Cystic fibrosis?
PS lets get back on thread and remember that this thread is about this young lad Tom Gallagher who tragically took his own life! R.I.P TOM13 February 2011 at 8:38 pm #59393Just like to offer my thanks and appreciation for the posts about Thomas, tom was a relative of mine, and a Wigan Ath fanatic, all his mates have had shirts and flags made in his memory, and are all attending the match on Wed, please get behind Thomas and the team, as he undoubtably would have done, just shows Depression can get the better of someone regardless of their age, once again Thanks a lot.
