    He may have played for our biggest rivals, but he was a true footballing legend. I actually bumped into him in a service station in Birmingham and had the honour of shaking his hand and speaking to him about football. A true legend!

          Legend.

          I was at a Sotheby’s valuation day a few years ago, and a guy had a 1950’s Bolton shirt, which had been worn by Nat Lofthouse. Being into memorabilia at the time, I guessed it was worth about £2000. Turned out I was right.

          That shirt will be worth a lot more today.
