Marcus Rashford the latest victim for missing a penalty. What the hell is going on here. It’s the latest trend to abuse your own player how stupid do you have to be to behave like that. The mind boggles. But you can bet the morons doing this have never been inside a stadium.
25 August 2019 at 12:44 am #180666I am not at all blaming Brexit or people who voted to leave – they had their own reasons.
But it is clear to me that nutjobs have been emboldened to think their way of thinking is now acceptable.
It isn’t, among any reasonable minded person, Leave or Remain.25 August 2019 at 1:10 am #180667The racists and xenophobes have become emboldened since 23/6/16. Once upon a time they skulked in the shadows, ate gammon and rustled a copy of the daily mail whilst hurrumphing at the state of lefty Britain. Nowadays they see their agenda as the popular one, backed by 52% of the population.
25 August 2019 at 1:28 am #180668Is it not due to the penalty being missed and lost a lot off money .its out
Off order now…..now blaming brexit is absolutely bolloxs its the dodgy mps that should be taking stick…wankstains..has cook not been potted yet.25 August 2019 at 2:02 am #180669All I hope is that we buck the trend if one of our lads has a neetmare and back him wholeheartedly. We have consistently made headlines for the right reasons so let it continue and flood social media with positive tweets if a Latics lad of ethnicity cocks it up. We have always been different from the sheep so let it continue and let’s be Latics fans simply the best.

The newspapers making it a story this past week doesn’t justify ignoring it for the previous decade plus. There certainly is a problem with mainstream racism in politics. Hence one party being investigated by the EHRC.
25 August 2019 at 5:32 am #180675Woah woah woah.
I voted leave for reasons none of which were racist and nor have I abused anyone on social media for being black.
Society is f***** currently and has been for a while but racism has been around for years. Wigan rugby players had bananas thrown at them in the 80s (and 70s tbh) and that was f*** all to do with Brexit.

No-one at all is suggesting you are. Nor is anyone saying that large numbers of Leave voters did so for reasons that are racist.
The point though is that those of that ilk, who as you say have been around for ages, now feel that they can crawl out from their rocks, because THEY think the vote was against ‘ forriners’ and THEY think that it’s now OK to behave that way.
Racism and xenophobia has always been there, you are right, but it has been suppressed. It is. now coming out into the open from those who don’t understand, who have listened to Farage, and can’t grasp that in or out of the EU it is still not acceptable.25 August 2019 at 12:26 pm #180678I am not at all blaming Brexit or people who voted to leave – they had their own reasons.

It isn’t, among any reasonable minded person, Leave or Remain. Then why bring it up ?, your “I’m not blaming” remark clearly shows you do or you wouldn’t mention it in the same breath as online racism.
And you wonder why societies so f#cked up when you can draw a link between the 2 -
