after the post further down regarding dave whelan’s comments in his daily telegraph interview i could not let it go un answered so i just sent this to the club.
I have used this email address before to express my feelings to the management of the club in fact,i wrote recently about my disgust at the way lee cattermole left,now i read this in the media
“Our supporters realise who we are and what we are,” he insists. “They’re just happy we are in the Premier League and we have Man United coming here on Saturday. They accept that when we get an offer of £10 million we have to take it. I’ve yet to get a complaint when we sell a player. And they’re as proud as me when they go on to greater things. Or that’s what they tell me.”
so could you pass this on to mr whelan please

because not many of these people sit near me in the ground, or go for an after match drink where we do, or frequent the message boards,because most of the people i have come across think the exact opposite. which £10 million are you talking about,sure palacios and valencia 10 mill + but who else? ,we have given a proven TOP CLASS PREMIERSHIP player to sunderland for a paltry sum and speculation abounds that you are prepared to let roberto martinez spend nearly as much on a poor substitute from swansea,i went watch swansea 5 times LIVE last season and along with scotland i thought he was ordinary to say the least.
i spoke of my fears for us after the way we played v st.mirren and the way cattermole left the club or more so about the sum of money he left for,i suggested that looking on from the outside the club was preparing for the lower divisions and the tone from the club has changed from a positive rosey outlook pushing for europe to one of another seasons struggle, the displays this week and ineptitude of the players lead me to believe my initial fears and thoughts are correct,
i am a realist and know that our survival depends on being creative within the transfer market as do most wiganers,and i support you fully there, but to make statements like the ones highlighted above about “being happy” or ‘no one is complaining’ are wide of the mark.

I dont believe that you could post this in a National paper about Mr Whelan, he is a true gentleman who loves Wigan and its people, why dont you just support the man and his ambitions, we know that Wigan will never be the Uniteds of this world and i admire him for being honest not like some of the slime ball owners of clubs please leave him alone he is a pensioner for goodness sake and could be your grandfather!!!

Also if Wigan people were happy with his running of our club why are they not going? It’s the first time we have played Man U on a Saturday not on T.V. and we got 18000 that speaks for itself!!!!

You lot just wait i am so angry mad as owt! you will regret it when he says enough is enough and walks away we will be skint and thats not good. We could end up like Leigh rmi if we didnt have the fantastic backing of Mr Whelan.
He pays the bills and even the Police bill he sorted and held his head high in doing so, so stop it now if he read these articles he would surely leave i think they should be removed as to not offend Mr Whelan.
It is also time that it should be arise Sir Dave Whelan for his services to Wigan, he employs probably most of us Wigan folk.

In similar vein to your letter loudmouth, can I ask who these supporters are who think that £6/£8 MILLION pounds sterling is a paltry sum? Let me tell you sir, that amount can buy enough meat pies to save Africa; it’s far from paltry.
I also draw your attention to the following statement, “I am a realist”. I put it to you sir that rather than a realist, you are a champ-manager playing chimp.
