Loans or permanents ?
Who would walk over broken glass to sign for Wigan ?
Who should we get rid off ( please be sensible ) ?27 December 2009 at 3:08 pm #16065we sign in the transfer window ?Loans or permanents ?
Who would walk over broken glass to sign for Wigan ?
Who should we get rid off ( please be sensible ) ?truth is we cant get rid of anyone
contracts issued to them are not going to be as good if they move on.
the problem we have is the signings made so far ,our league position and the fact that senior players will go if they get the chance we will only sbe able to sign second rate swansea players or south/central americans who dont know how dire the outlook is at the dw stadium.
27 December 2009 at 3:19 pm #16070fact is we are just a selling club and will be with that t i t as chairman sunning it up in barbados, thinking who shall i sell next to boost up my bank account ,the old t i t would sell his wife if he could ,thats why we lost steve bruce ,he couldnt keep hold of the good players and rilled him up .

Richard Branson, that well known lad from Scholes, or Tim Waterstone, the Ince boy done good?
Perhaps we can attract an Arab investor to the Wigan Atheltic global brand.
If not, looks like we’ll have to continue with our selling ways, and shelve our Champions League plans for now.
27 December 2009 at 4:27 pm #16079way we are going we can shelve our prem league status as well ;)

27 December 2009 at 9:11 pm #16103I think we could possibly lose Figueroa, Scharner and N’Zogbia because of the interest in them and the fact we’re a selling club and nothing convinces me anything regarding ambition has changed.
I think Gomez and Scotland are getting far too much stick, Rodallega was awful in the 1st half, gave the ball away on numerous occasions but nothing mentioned, as soon as Scotland does something wrong everybody lets him know about it, very unfair and we as fans should be behind our players, not picking up on all mistakes.
As for the dead-wood, I think we need to sell the likes of Bouaouzan, Kingson, Kapo, De Ridder, Cho and Edman + any others I may have missed. A possible loan move for the younger players (McCarthy, Cywka, etc). I agree that we should only sell players that WILL be replaced, we don’t have a big enough or strong enough squad to be selling fringe players.
I think Tamudo is a sealed deal from Espanyol, I also think there may be renewed interest in some of the players we were looking at in the summer (Crusat, Elyseu + others) and I am behind Bobby and trust him 100% to bring in the players he needs providing he is supported by Mr Whelan.
They say it takes a new manager 3 transfer windows to build his team, he has had 1, January will be his 2nd and the summer will be his 3rd and hopefully this time next year we’ll all be talking about how well we’re doing and how far our fans favorite manager, a true Wigan legend has brought us in a short spell.
Roll on January! I bet Roberto can’t wait, he will know exactly what he wants and more importantly what he needs and fingers crossed he’ll keep our big players and build a team that will consistently perform.

He will buy 2 no marks and sell 4 of our better players.

Good post ( Alex Ferguson or Cribley ? ).
You have cheered me up with your PMA !28 December 2009 at 2:25 pm #16124Surely this mon would be worth a punt on loan for the rest of the season….he has prem league experience and would surely want to play first team football instead of playing reserve games for Citeh.

it seems that on the grapevine Bobby has done deals on 4 players and a keeper but cant do any thing else till January so let him get on with it and lets get behind the lads we field at the moment.
