Blackpool will beat Bolton, lose at Man Utd: finishing on 39 points.

Blackburn will lose to Man Utd, and I can see Wolves beating them at Molineux: finishing on 39 points.

Thus we have to take 4 points from our last six, with at least a point against the Cheats.

So probably our biggest & most important game in our Premiership history is next week. So let’s raise the roof and get behind the lads !

Alasdair, can you see us beating Stoke or even getting a point there after watching the way they are playing right now against the Gooners !! I think next week will be a draw at best which will not be enough ! However ” Its a funny old game ” !!!!

I’ve just watched Stoke beat Arsenal and if they play like that against us we probably wont win. So as Lostock says lets get behind the lads raise the roof and lets beat the Cheats.

Jeez, I wouldn’t like to have been in the trenches with some of you men. Talk about beaten before you get out there.

you forgot to add into that equation, at the moment we need to better 2 of the ones above us not one –

the ones you mention plus birmingham who also may only end up on 39 points but i think they will get at least a point from fulham & spurs,

so realistically it is just the ones you say – but remember blackburn have a + 9 goal difference than us.

I reckon that, ignoring Wigan and West Ham for the moment, the teams in the mix will get the following points totals:

        Brum 42
        Wolves 41
        Blackburn 39
        Blackpool 39

So, 4 points would do it, 3 unlikely due to Blackburn’s goal difference as you say. Seems to contradict my earlier post that says we may need 6.

Beating West Ham is a must, of course, but I don’t really fancy going to Stoke having to get a point.

        Needs must, though

the other thing not mentioned is man utd,
they are in cruise control at the moment v chelsea and i think they will be happy with a point at blackburn to clinch the title – without it being too physical with the champions league final coming up and then a party mood atmosphere at old trafford on the last day could just suit blackpool who we all know will give it a go, with nothing to lose.

Man Utd have a history of losing games once they have the title wrapped up – It would be seriously ironic if a Blackpool win or draw at Old Trafford sent the original cheats down.

Hmm, I feel like that Dave character at the bar in the Fast Show – keep changing my mind. :)

Two wins will so it, then.

          Probably

Fist time for everything, back to back wins on the way

Well one thing’s for sure manure won’t be doing us any favours, expect another belly up performance when they face blackpool. So it looks like back to back wins then, no problem

Stop panicking FFS! 4 points is pretty much guaranteed to keep us in the Prem. Some of you pessimists seem to think every result will go against us. Sunderland are unlikely to lose to Wolves at home. Wolves have only won one away match away all year and providing United (who are on fire) beat Blackburn that will do it as they cant both win their last game. What’s all this United lose when they win the title nonsense? OK they lost to West ham one season (though they battered em and could have had ten) but i cant recall em throwing too many points away.

On the other hand we play the bottom of the table side at home next week (who could be virtually down by the time we play them) and then play a tired Stoke side who will have played a cup final and a midweek game a few days before. Im not saying its not a tough ask but its far from impossible. If we cant beat West Ham at home we deserve to go down end of.

Just read this from a West Ham fan:

‘Taking this tin pot outfit with us would be a small mercy.
In 2006, one newspaper compared them to “Girls Aloud”. Essentially, it stated that like Girls Aloud, “we dont know how they got here, or why they have succeeded, but they will eventually fall”. Girls Aloud have fallen, Wigan must fall too’.

                  Lets prove them wrong again!

                  Just read this from CFT.

The westerly winds should improve sport this week.
