A fella on Talkshyte this morning was talking about Neil Lennon’s latest rant at officialdom last night and suggested that transcripts of conversations/arguments between managers and officials should be made public.
It reminded me of when I was on the committee of the Wigan Amateur League and had to review many referee reports for discipinary purposes. The best one I recall was:
“Having waved away a penalty claim for the home side, I turned round to see the home team centre forward jumping up and down in the centre circle shouting “F*** off, you f***** useless blind black f****** c***”
I think the black referred to the colour of his kit, by the way.
Any one else have any stories? I’m sure Tyldesley does :)
A player I’d sent off for 2 cautions for dissent once came on to the pitch at full time & threatened to wrap a corner flag round my neck. In fact if I remember right as well as the sending off report I sent in 5 misconduct reports against the club & as far as I’m aware they’ve since folded
Below is a snippet from one of my match reports:
“During the second half of the above game I sent off X from the field of play for violent conduct for shoving me in the chest with both hands as I was cautioning him for dissent.
After I had shown the red card, X began to act in an extremely aggressive manner towards me. I felt that, but for the efforts of his team mates, he was going to physcially attack me. Whilst being restrained X made threats to “chuffin launch you all over that car park after the game you fat coot” and that he was “going to chuffin have you after the game you fat coot”.
As his team mates were still attempting to restrain him and get him off the field of play he made a further threat that “I’m gonna chuffin burn that fat chuffin coot after the game”
It took several minutes after the issuing of the red card for X to be almost forcibly removed from the field of play by his team mates”I don’t know why he kept calling me fat coz my mum has always told me that I’m just big boned!!!
I had to bite my tongue after one particular game as a bunch of U16 Scouse scrotes (& their manager) followed me from the pitch shouting after me that I was a “chuffin, fat :shock: , cheatin, bar steward” & a “chuffin smackhead” which I thought was a bit rich coming from Scousers!!
As I’m using a works PC I’ve taken the liberty of changing some of the language used to protect my job!!!!
My Dad always told us a funny one back when he was a Ref in South Lancs…..
He gave questionable penalty and one of the players on the defending side came over to him and said:
“Ref if I call you a c*nt will you send me off?”
Old Man: “Of course I will”
Player: “Well what if I think your a c*nt?”
Old Man: “Well there’s nothing I can do about you thinking is there”
Player: “Ok, Ref I think your a c*nt!”
My Dad having abit of sense of humour didn’t bother with the cards and laughed it off.
