IMO it is nailed on with Bob as manager. He has had a season and a half to get things right and we are no better now than when he took over. I believe he has been given more than enough time and it is obvious that his way is not working. He keeps saying in interviews we are learning but I bet he picks the same formation as always the same formation that has seen us score 10 goals all season.
Please go now Bob before it’s to late.
28 November 2010 at 12:58 pm #51846Got to agree the only reason we stayed up last season was becasue there was some awful teams in the prem. However, i think we will need more than 40 points this season and i cant see us getting 40 goals with this manager and his tactics

29 November 2010 at 2:24 am #51898There’s a new Bob in this space suit!.
club legend, nice man and other assorted platitudes BLAH BLAH BLAH ad infinitum . as far as I’m concerned he needs to go. it’s not working and it doesn’t look like it’s going to start working. sick to death of all the smoke and mirror rubbish with some deluded people who post on here :roll:29 November 2010 at 2:33 am #51899Whereas you are the dictionary definition of lucid, aren’t you Jeff? ;)

We will NOT get relegated this season!
29 November 2010 at 9:33 am #51907Unless Whelan sacks this guy I’m afraid James, we will be relegated this season. There’s a good chance we will be bottom by christmas, and then………. well, I’ll let you check the stats!
29 November 2010 at 10:30 am #51910Of course there’s a better than even chance we will be relegated. But it doesn’t seem like Whelan will sack him so why you all get your knickers in a twist every time we lose is beyond me.
Whelan will change his manager when Whelan wants to. He certainly won’t be influenced by a bunch of know-nowts on a message board
29 November 2010 at 1:00 pm #51920As much as I am living on the positive side of the fence, I can understand why we are all hacked off this morning, West Ham are a poor side and we made so many mistakes in the game we deserved to lose.
One thing I can say this season is that we deserve to be where we are and poor decisions really havent cost us this season.
Wigan cant stay in the top flight for ever and the news that whelan will sell one day wont surprise many of us. This pretty much starts the count down clock now. So if we go down this season, it will be very hard and as this is our club we all want Bob to succeed, but so be it.
Not sure how people expect us to go down when we will, but this is what its like. Said it before when Bob took over, if we do go down then so be it, but at least we know Bob has Latics close to his heart.
Dont let the b*ggers get you down !
29 November 2010 at 1:49 pm #51928I dont have a problem with going down should it happen but I would definitely NOT renew my season ticket if it was Martinez who took us down and was still at the helm next season ! This forum is just a mere drop in the ocean when it comes to our fan base and one cant gauge who is pro or anti Martinez from just reading this, but it does look like the majority on here have turned against him. The vibe I get from the concourse at half time and from the long Lowryesque traipse over the bridge at full time is that those around me then are also are sick of him ! Dark Side, negative, call me what you like but I pay my money and so therefore I can have an opinion and my opinion is that it is time for change ! To be honest I dont think there are too many who are positive enough to suggest we will be safe this season but there are some very tolerant people who seem to be easily pleased or maybe they just cant imagine there is a solution !! You hear this ” But who would we bring in ” and ” Its down to the players ” Well the buck stops with the manager, always has and always will. Look at Bolton they weren’t really that bad under Megson and they weren’t exactly in a relegation battle but the style of footy was poor and someone had the vision to see that if he stayed it would go downhill and so he was replaced with a manager who has some fire in his belly who can motivate a team and get them playing. Well that is what we need along with the right backroom staff. Resignation is not the answer as we need a contingency plan first but surely DW can get the wheels in motion. Or is he really NOT that bothered ? All I know is that this is not working and as this is the top flight of football then why not fight to stay there !!
29 November 2010 at 2:02 pm #51932I would definitely have a season ticket should Martinez be our manager next season, be it in the championship or the prem. Still don’t think we will go down though.
Completely agree with Griff’s last comment, people moaning on here isn’t going to make Whelan change his mind.
29 November 2010 at 2:59 pm #51942I think Whelan has made it clear this season, we stick with Bob no matter what. So all the moaning and groaning aint gonna make a difference.
If Whelan changes his mind he will do it not because of the fans, but more because of the finance side of things. But as he has said he wants out and doesnt want to burden his family with his debt he will try and balance the books before going.
With the squad looking bare, especially with the injuries and Cleverly going we will be in real trouble come january…

A couple of seasons support in the championship and a few years in the premiership. The likes of Jack Sudworth, Stan Jackson, Brian Sabin have nothing on you.
