again next season according to insomnia
i want to leave for a bigger club
that wont be in a relegation scrap next season
fookin downer allready :angry-banghead:
You referring to the Daily Mail story thats just popped up on news now ?
The actual quote from the player and the headline could be from totally different stories. He says nothing of the sort about wanting to leave – in the bit they’ve quoted at least.
Ok I know he got us out of the sh it a few times.
I went to most away games last season and in most he was cack. I recall the game v Birmingham when the tosser Ridgewell (a full back ) took the p iss out of him. Martinez hauled him off either at half time or soon after if my memory serves right.Just one of a number of games where he didn’t seem bothered.
Maybe it was partly his fault that we were in the position we were in at the end.
BTW barbel and dace were showing all along the Ribble yesterday.

the statement from nzogbia probably as much substance to it as your barbel and dace story –
i know you john, and i also know you wont be targeting fish on ANY river for another 9 days or so.
Let’s be honest, most of the “quotes” would have been lost in translation and made to sound a bit detrimental to the club. I think he probably said something like “I always give 200% to the club and will do if I stay” and also “I want to be in a team challenging for honours rather than being in a relegation battle” – we have been in a relegation battle for 2 years….
The club isn’t stupid – there is a chance nZogbia would run down the last year of his contract and go for nothing so if he won’t sign a new deal, he will be sold…
What’s wrong with a bit of ambition…he wants to play for France and has a better chance if he is in a top 6 club in Europe….
…but Champions league material…as good as nZogbia is, he will need to start thinking about passing the ball more often…not sure if he would be a regular started for a Champions League tem
…but good luck to him anyway – whatever you think, he got us out of the deep stuff for two years!!
He wants to play at a higher level and we can’t offer that at the moment.
He got us out of the mire this year, so all the best to him.
Hang on a bit :hand: , the same could be said about us getting him out the mire. :snooty:
He was an outcast at Newcastle, with a fairly big price on his head and a name for being a whinging, sulking inconsistent player that they wanted rid of.
We paid a substantial amount of money for him and over the last few years have given him regular football, helped him get his form back and put him in a position that other clubs have now started to look at him.
Just ask yourselves, if we could go back to when kinnear labelled him insomnia and he had been dropped out of the Newcastle first team scene for his strops, then would Liverpool or even Sunderland be banging on their SJP door.? :naughty:
Don’t get me wrong I would love Charlie to stay or at least, at second best get a pon full er money for him, but he owes us as much as we owe him for his current predicament. :angry-soapbox:

Whoaa!! JR in this business (and that is exactly what it is – like it or not) paying a substantial amount of money for a player, making him better then selling him on for what would seem to be a fantastic profit is good business (wheeler dealer doing a car up analogy). N’Zogbia owes us nothing – the game went mercenary years ago. Further, as has been said before, has he been consistently good over the seasons – that mate is debatable. If he is to go on to greater things (France National Team etc) then he needs to move onto a club that can offer a better standard of training, better facilities, more staff etc (just look how well Antonio has come on).
What we also musn’t lose sight of is that if, as someone else has suggested, he is indeed within his last year of his contract and we do not secure a better one for him then he will leave next year and we will be quids out (if you can say that).
However, I applaude your sentiments in that I like the idea that players give back to the clubs what we have invested in them (loyalty etc)…..but hey! I’m just an old romantic.
I know its good business, but all I was trying to say is that just cos he has scored a few crucial goals and helped keep is in this league it doesn’t mean we owe him out. That’s exactly what he has been paid to do and is still contracted to us to do it.
I would argue Ali has made more of a contribution to us staying up than Charlie has, yet we are not throwing money at Noblot for the sake of it.
There are a few other players that have contributed well this year without stealing the limelight.
If I was being honest, I would love us to get around £10m dabs for Charlie and throw the lot at Matt Jarvis from Wolves. He will create far more chances than Charlie has ever done and could be an England regular in the next few years. To me Zog is great at what he does, cutting in on his left and shooting. You very rarely see him taking defenders on wide and swinging the ball in for the forwards.
A fantastic individual player with bundles of talent, but replaceable……100% yip!!
Are you serious that we go for matt jarvis, if so you need a prescription of reality :naughty:
I respect your opinion……like others you are entitled to it….. bu1sh!t ones or otherwise. Me? I prefer to base my ‘rantings’ (as was inconsiderately described a few days ago) on reading articles written by other, more professional than me, authors who have more of an insight to the guys talents……oh and from time to time actually watching them.
Hey Ho, each to their own I suppose – orft to the doctors now for that prescription
