The Frenchman, who has operated at full-back and centre-back during his time in the Premier League with Manchester United and Arsenal, is keen to stay in England after being told he had no future with the Gunners.
The 32-year-old, who has already attracted the attention of West Ham this summer, would be available on a free transfer and would bring a wealth of experience with him to the DW Stadium, having spent nine years at Manchester United between 1999 and 2008 and the last two campaigns with Arsenal.
Silvestre could be seen as the ideal short-term replacement for Maynor Figueroa at Wigan, should he join Liverpool before the start of the season.
Would he fit the boot?

What the fcuk are you talking about would he fit the boot ??? You are most certainly a multi in my opinion. I dont know who but you are a wind up merchant. If by some remote chance you are genuine, then you need some sort of therapy ! I will hazard a guess and say you dont have many friends and rarely leave your bedroom !!
3 August 2010 at 10:14 pm #41561You have made me laugh here Phil – no he is not a multi and therapy he may well need some but who knows
still I know what you mean and he seems to be going more off the wall with each post
as for you Don – you certainly know how to get the locals going
4 August 2010 at 4:08 am #41577No mention of who the player is, as our friend from Belfast has missed off the title when he’s copied and pasted.
If it is indeed Dolphin Heed, yes, I’d take him.
4 August 2010 at 3:59 pm #41611That Jon Whitney at Lincoln looks promising.
Maybe we should take a punt on him, as a new left back to bring through?
