But, England v Ireland on St Paddy’s Day at Twickenham (ten times better than Wembley), full hospitality, reservation at Bombay Brasserie later and a top notch hotel for the night.
What more could my wife want as a Mother’s Day present?

Ah the proper one. The one where no tries are scored, Teams just kick to each other and involves no fitness or tactics. Not to mention the fact they just walk into each other and pretend it’s a tackle then just hug each other for 5 mins. If you think that is more entertaining than RL you are insane. Big soft very overweight fattie forwards grabbing each others balls in a scrum. By far the most boring game in the history of sport.

Not insane just open minded and able to accept there is a world beyond the M62.
Having been raised on RL through the Wigan school system I also held the view that Union was for posh boys and inferior. However, I then ventured beyond the WN postal district (you should try it some time) and played Union (right up until I was 36). Massively superior game. Proof being that it is played and watched by ten times as many people, probably more.
Interesting that two of the England team and one of the coaches are all from Wigan. I hope RL continues, but fear it may just dwindle and die over time.
As for your second post, some of us don’t need to pretend ;)
