Is he on? Very quiet game.
14 November 2015 at 7:52 pm #145826Is he on? Very quiet game.Yes he was on and he had a very industrious game. Only had one training session with team and slotted in quite well.
Absolutely no negatives coming out of that performance, they did a professional job on Rochdale, did what they had to do and buggered off home. The support today was first class, I’m sure Yanick enjoyed the “Victor Moses” ditty he got. Well done Gary and his team. :cheer:
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!14 November 2015 at 8:12 pm #145827I thought Revell was very good with some nice touches considering he has hardly trained with the team. Fitted in well.
14 November 2015 at 8:40 pm #145828Was he meant to be playing up front? He seemed to be very deep and in midfield. Whatever it worked and a workmanlike victory to make tonight’s booze taste even better.

15 November 2015 at 1:06 pm #145842Was he meant to be playing up front? oh ffsFar far too much is being put in many discussions on the formation and who is “meant” to be playing where. So many people look at the team as it is announced and mentally decide “who is playing where in a rigid 3-4-3, 3-5-1, 4-4-2 or whatever”. Modern football is fluid with changes in formation almost minute by minute with players changing roles, sometimes subtly, sometimes more apparent, all the time. Strikers drop a bit deeper, wing backs push forward a few yards more or hold back. midfielders change sides and sit deeper/further up as needed.
Unfortunately many people get their views of football tactics from FIFA 2015 or listening to TV pundits (who are paid to talk gibberish) or whatever where a team is “set up” from the start and pretty well stays that way.
Real football is played with real people.
15 November 2015 at 2:00 pm #145843Totally agree with you Garswood but where was he playing yesterday? midfield or up front. Davies seemed to be the main striker and will look great with Grigg Wildshutt and Jacobs but. Midfield yesterday did what we have been asking pushing up to support Davies so I agree with you Garswood formations are nothing and its the way players play all supporting each other that win games and at times yesterday the midfield where superb and backed up both the strikers and defenders but on watching yesterday it was hard to work out if Revell was playing as a striker or midfielder. Maybe basing that on chances he had probably. Maybe we should just drop the word striker, midfielder defender.
15 November 2015 at 2:35 pm #145844Totally agree with you Garswood but where was he playing yesterday? midfield or up front. How can you agree with George then go on to ask was he playing in midfield or upfront. Maybe it’s a wind-up. I hope it is for your sake because if this was a serious question you really are clueless.

16 November 2015 at 11:34 am #145852Well you definitely know about the second.
16 November 2015 at 6:14 pm #145857The only time Revell was in midfield on Saturday was when he was lining up for the kick offs.
After that he took up his position as a striker , a centre forward , up front , up top , leading the line ….as an attacker!!
This is a wind up yea?
PS he also had a solid debut and will prove to be yet another excellent signing.
16 November 2015 at 7:51 pm #145858Question is what happens Saturday. Will it be Davies and Grigg? with Wildschutt out wide or will he stick with Revell and Davies or will it be Revell and Grigg with Wildschutt. At least the options are there. A better place than last year with Fortune on his own or McClean as a striker.
