Macclesfield Town midfielder, Richard Butcher, died suddenly at his home overnight, aged just 29.
So tragic.
Richard was a very good midfielder, who had played for Lincoln, Oldham, and Notts County. Personally, I was aware of him, as he had been mentioned a year or two ago as a potential transfer target for several bigger clubs. He had the knack of popping up with important goals, the last of which came on New Years Day at Gigg Lane against Bury.
Deepest sympathy to his family, all who knew him, and all at MTFC. RIP.
Puts a lot of things into perspective.
