30 March 2012 at 3:45 am #84270Is that the Tommy Berry who used to be a coach at Junior Latics with Malc Veall?
30 March 2012 at 3:25 pm #84301RIP Tommy. Genuine bloke and Latics to the core. This is one person that truly will be missed and such a tragic way to go.
30 March 2012 at 5:34 pm #84306Just found out it was the Tommy who used to coach Junior Latics when I used to be chairman of the football section. What a tragedy. Tommy was a fantastic bloke with a great sense of humour. The lads used to love Tommy and Malc and we’ve had some great times together. I don’t live far from where it happened and was working in the back garden about the time it happened and heard the police/ambulance sirens. If anyone finds out the funeral details please post on here. God Bless, Tommy.
30 March 2012 at 6:12 pm #84309Former next door neighbour and good friend.
Was talking to him only last week at Anfied.
RIP mate.30 March 2012 at 6:41 pm #84310Nephew was working with him on a job until half 4 on Tuesday, they worked together a lot. They said their goodbyes and see you tomorrows and it was only when he got to work the day after and Tommy wasn’t there he thought something was up and found out only a couple of hours after they’d last spoke he’d been tragically killed.
I only knew him through my nephew at Latics but he seemed a good bloke. Terrible, tragic story about a guy who loved Latics and his cycling.
RIP Tommy. Hope the club do something on Saturday in his memory. He certainly deserves it.

1 April 2012 at 12:54 pm #84446The fans in the Supporters Club were superb, I don’t know how long the applause went on for but as it was unprompted it shows how much he was thought of.
We’ll miss him.
