Although this site has rebuilt itself since the demise of rivals.net, is any one else of the opinion that all the in fighting we have on here now is mainly down to the fact that there are no longer any ‘rivals’ to argue with?

I often go on a few ‘boards’ – purely for entertainment purposes you understand…….. and play merry hell with them. I’ve even ’embedded’ myself on the AVFTT (Blackpool – fansonline) board. They are a touchy lot and as soon as you say anything ‘controversial’ they automatically assume you’re a PNE supporter – great sport and it keeps the sharpness.
However, I think you are right……not that long ago we would get some of ours ‘largin’ it’ on rival boards only to get “can you come and collect xxxxxx as he seems to be making a fool of himself” comments.
We should encourage other fans to ‘have a go – debate‘ on here.

I remember posting summat last season saying how I missed rivals cos at least back then we generally stuck together and took any anger out on the opposition instead of each other.
….course we were also very successful for most of those years as well so generally had less to moan and fight about.
Can’t say I miss those bl00dy boing boing baggies tho.

There are links to old rivals sites on the board index page. I know you would have to register for each one, but if you keep the same user and pass it won’t be hard to remember.
I haven’t updated it for 18 months though so they me be out of date, but I will try to have a look over the next couple of days.
