Don’t know how much truth there is in this, but I have heard it a few times now, that Villa are going to put in a £15 million bid for Hugo in the summer.
That would be one hell of a profit if Villa can actually afford that amount.
We paid what, between 4 and 4.5 million for him and he has shown in spells that he is worth what we paid although recently, with his lack of goals, effort and his 2 penalty misses I would say not.
If (and it’s a big IF) Villa pay £15m for him in the summer I would accept without a thought for many reasons. Football is a business and that would be £11m profit, it would be £15m to spend on new players and wages + he isn’t irreplacable, far from it to be honest.

I’ll be disappointed in Whelan if he turned that type of money down.

Probably worth about 7 million, and no more. Honest to god, we’d be daft NOT to sell him for that.
He’s a striker who will always score, at most, 12, maybe 15 goals a season. Out of 6 chances, he might take one. He’s that type of player.
Someone offers such an inflated price….sorry, but it’s a no-brainer.
