He’s pencilled in to face Latics, next week.
It’s so nailed on that he’ll make his big comeback against us and get on the scoresheet, isn’t it?
All those ‘Mancs’ that were slating him a few weeks ago, will be giving it the ‘Roon-eh! Roon-eh!’
11 November 2010 at 6:35 pm #50763Wayne Rooney virtually always scores against Latics so if he plays I’ll have a few quid on him as 1st goalscorer
I’m tempted to say that with their illnesses, injuries & up & down form that there’s never been a better time to play em but I was interviewed on BBC news on the morning of the Carling Cup final & said virtually the same thing & we got battered 4-0 so I’ll keep my mouth shut this time
11 November 2010 at 7:49 pm #50773never happens for us against united, the only team that keeps on thumping us season in season out,but saying that dont think we could be playing them at a better time they certainly aint playing like the united of old ;)
12 November 2010 at 12:33 am #50803I hope Rooney does play he is cack ! :o

17 November 2010 at 3:42 pm #51177It’s coming……………..
And I’ll be there to see it.
Though whatever happens, I’m going to enjoy the day out and several beers around Manchester.
If we apply ourselves as we have done recently, it’ll be interesting. Would be bloody brilliant if we could do what Sunderland did at Chelsea!

If you think Rooney is cack……
…hate to think what you make of Gomez.

He may not be the worst player (Rooney) … But certainly the most over-rated player in the premiership!
17 November 2010 at 5:47 pm #51191Have you noticed that on many occasions when a top striker has lost his form, they suddenly find it when playing against us!
I would not say that Manure alway batter us, there have been 2 games which we were unlucky to lose. The week after the carling Cup battering we only lost 2-1 to a Chimbonda own goal – we were unlucky. More recently we battered them and Scholes should have been sent off. Whilst we lost were certainly not battered. Did we not also have a very good (though we lost) gane at OT under SB when red nose complimented by saying it was their hardest game?
17 November 2010 at 6:26 pm #51193That 2-1 after the Carling Cup final United only had 1 shot on target all night yet wound up winning 2-1!!
There was also a 2-1 at wom in Bruce’s last season where Rodallega put us 1-0 up at half time & then United won late on – coincidentally when Rodallega didn’t track back & allowed their right back to run unchallenged for 60 yards & able to ping a shot or cross in that the goal came from
We also had a game that Baines scored a screamer of a free kick in early on & I think we led 1-0 at half-time. Early in the 2nd half though Vidic scored his first ever United goal (& if I remember at the time he was being written off as a bit of a duffer prior to that game), hasn’t looked back since & United wound up winning 3-1
I just always seem to think we concede a key goal against United & then collapse. It happened last season at home (0-0 at half time then concede 5 in the next 45), that Baines game (1-0 up at half time then concede 2 quick goals & get beat 3-1) & then there’s the Carling Cup Final – I went for a slash & to buy one of those massive pasties everybody seemed to be eating, just after we’d gone 2-0 down. By the time I’d re-surfaced on the terracing it was 4-0
17 November 2010 at 7:32 pm #51196United are crying out for that boost to increase their form, and will be reliant on Rooney to supply it. How bloody typical that he’s been sunning himself in Dubai, plus doing special training in America over the past few weeks, and then he comes back to face us?
To use that famous quote, I’d LOVE IT, if we beat them. Love it.
It’ll go either one of two ways this. It will either be a case of him being rusty, United off par, and us managing to get either a draw, or a very close defeat to them……
Or he’ll come back, United will be buoyed by it, and they will hammer us 3 or 4 nil, before going on an unbeaten run that will put them well back in the title race.
