wouldnt surprise me if one bottle was enough to give the whole crowd a drink, after that display on Saturday.
19 October 2014 at 1:56 pm #134203Puts out an attacking line up and we didn’t attack. One shot saved from Maloney 1st half and same 2nd I seem to remember. The long haired lad on the wing tortured us and the blonde haired lad in the middle looked a hundred times better than Forshaw.
Is it players, manager, tactics? I’m not sure anymore and when that’s the case you normally see a new man come in and sort it. Moyes absolutely banker material and lives locally.
I still think we can get in the play offs comfortably with this squad.
Oh, and to pick on Riera and Delort is daft. Neither of them should be being asked to play this way. There’s a potential partnership there and Delort is keen as mustard judging by how much he wanted to take a free kick in the 2nd half when Maloney pulled rank.

Agreed. With a little bit more confidence and perseverance we will be alright.
The crowd, also, have their part to play and I expect nothing less than rousing chanting, throughout, at Tuesdays game – young drummer boy needs to earn his crust.

19 October 2014 at 8:12 pm #134216http://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/93907/holtSounds like he’s doing a bloody awful job for a bloke who ain’t played for nigh on a year. 10 pts from 12 since he arrived and can’t get in our squad cos he won’t live in Pem!
I haven’t seen as many positive comments about a Latics centre forward for many years.
Swallow your pride Uwe and get him back straight away and play him up front with A.N Other.
Our three ‘hotshot’ strikers we have here at present need lessons on how to be a striker as they seem to either have forgotten or more to the point have never known.19 October 2014 at 8:15 pm #134218http://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/93907/holt

Or maybe they aren’t getting the service from our supposed attacking midfield.
20 October 2014 at 1:02 am #134228The midfield was very deep yesterday! Why was that?
20 October 2014 at 1:40 am #134229Marks out of ten for yesterdays midfield
McClean 2,rarely got a cross in to our striker but this would help if players were in the box to pass to.
Forshaw 2, bullied and outplayed by a better Brentford midfield.
Cowie 1, was he on the pitch?
Maloney 4, a bit busier than Forshaw or Cowie but no where near his best yet,
McManaman 2, starved of the ball
Any changes for Tuesday? It is about time we played a settled side but possibly we could play with one winger and push Callum up front with Riera but its Rosler who knows best.

Where does this extra player come from? The midfield have been struggling to get service to the centre forward when there are five of them playing in it.Also, Maloney was playing in an advanced role on Saturday. Do you suggest he’s dropped -as there would be no place for him in a standard 4-4-2 formation?
20 October 2014 at 2:16 pm #134232We have signed some rubbish I know that. Riera and Delort look worse than Holt whilst the energy we lack in midfield should surely mean a chance for Espinoza. Still. Lets keep recycling the same shite! With a new manager and fresh idea’s I’m pretty sure you’ll eat those words
20 October 2014 at 2:29 pm #134233If this squad is as some think good enough to make the play offs then it won’t be under this manager. His one up front policy is compounding all the other issues namely a team that look to me like they are completely bereft of confidence which can only lie at the managers door. His continual tinkering and no team continuity has unsettled the squad. For me Delort looks poor with Riera not much better even factoring in playing a lone striking role not helping. I spoke socially with a regular 1st team player last week who when I asked what was going on with Holt did his best to answer diplomatically but between the lines was astounded at Rosler’s treatment and stubbornness to resolve the issue and admitted most of the playing staff were unhappy with it too.So for me I think it’s time for change as we look a bottom half team an I for one don’t see the faintest hope of climbing this table.Who would I replace him with ?……….Pulis…….then after him ..not a clue.
